As trade tensions escalate between the U.S. and China, Washington is sending a warning to U.S. companies: Think twice about doing business with China.
If I were a business, I would basically just stay away from China right now. Their misbehavior is so terrible. Kevin Hassett, chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers said on Yahoo Finances Market Mover Friday.

Maybe theyll cut out Chinese crap and begin manufacturing in the USA again.
Maybe.......
But if they run the numbers and determine they can’t manufacture here competitively they will go somewhere else.
Philippines, Thailand, Maylasia, Mexico, Guatamala........
Maybe China will stop contaminating their products?
So you don’t like sheetrock that glows in the dark????
I’m not anti-glow in the dark but taste funny in my food?
I think it is time for America to stop importing everything.
We need to make what we buy.
In America.
If there are companies who don’t want to do that, that is completely fine.
They’ll go broke.
Shame...
As a pundit noted, as much as Trump tariff war makes sense, we are fighting against ourselves in a way, against those corporate traitors who do business with China.
And do not get me started with US Universities. At one point in time we will have to make operations into Berkeley and CHicago the way we do them in Kabul. We have some the worst and most powerful world terrorism recruitment going on there.
You cannot trust them in stealing secrets; there are plenty of other places to use...Viet Nam for example.
Nice thought and hope. Wed have massive tooling costs to once again make for ourselves what we used to make. Our labor rate cant be as low as offshore. So, those product prices will be higher.
I think maybe we should require all importing countries to have equivalent social protections as us (the UN should like that), including OSHA, minimum wage, EPA, workers comp, health insurance, NLRB, unemployment insurance, Consumer Protection Agency, Medicaid, malpractice lawsuits, food stamps, etc.
Thatll make all their stuff more costly.
I predict that non-China emerging markets will benefit. Fine with me.
I think most outboard boat motors are made in Thailand now.
Or bowling alleys that catch on fire
Yes, thats a true story
I thought they were made in Wisconsin...
They may make some of the lower units in WI, but most of the power-heads are made in Japan, China, Thailand,...
After last week’s outing of SuperMicro as a leading distributor of compromised PCBs to the likes of the CIA, the US Navy, Amazon, and Apple, I have a feeling there will be some significant tax incentives to move PCB manufacturing to American shores.
There are simply too many places in the tech pipeline where the ChiComms can compromise computer components we rely on.
The businessw of America is Business
Trade makes the world go round
That warning will have leftist companies falling over themselves getting hooked up with China.
“Philippines, Thailand, Maylasia, Mexico, Guatamala........”
Move the jobs to Mexico and state that out of every 10 jobs created, 7 of them have to be for undocumented immigrants returning home.
Boy, will that piss off the left.
Now that’s a good thought.
