The second episode of CBS’s rebooted version of the political comedy Murphy Brown aired October 4 and the chosen hot-button issues to punch were: bashing White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ honesty and the introduction of a DACA student. If it were not for lame liberal talking points, this show would have no dialogue.

In her prime, Candace Bergan was both talented and beautiful. I remember her role in The Sand Pebbles, one of my favorites.
In the first run of Murphy Brown, despite definite liberal slant, she and the other characters initially poked fun at all sides in D.C.
It was later in the show's run, when they unfairly used a Dan Quayle comment on a fictional character as an in-universe slur against the lead character, where they joined Hollywood's slow march off the political deep end.
I can't bring myself to watch it this go around.
Well, she was busy in 1965 and 1966 then, because “The Sand Pebbles” also came out in 1966.
I guess Planned Parenthood told Candace she was a “sentient human being” (not like those nuisance unsentient unborn babies) .....
So Candace figured “what the hell” and signed the standard CBS rerun contract.
I was thinking the other day about all the shows I grew up with. A few Aussie shows but also American shows like Gunsmoke, Rat Patrol, My 3 Sons, Twilight Zone and many more. If they would reboot a lot of those old shows I reckon they might be more successful especially with the ones that were family friendly. It may be the only place some kids could learn some morals or see how a family is supposed to operate
A bit off topic but Mariette Hartley was quite the attractive lady in the Columbo episode I watched last night (even though I know she’s very much Hollywood liberal and IIRC has a family connection to one of FDR’s cabinet members).
Murphy Brownshirt is an attempt to legitimize delusion. Pick a left cause and tout it as pure unmitigated truth...

My father LOVED the Sand Pebbles. Candace Bergen was in her early 20’s and beautiful. Must be 50 years ago.

Murphy Brown-just another has-been stiff dug up from the crypt by the Hollywood pedophile industry in a desperate attempt to be relevant.
The most objectionable part of the show was that the White House took away her press credentials. That was the Obama White House. In the Trump White House, even Jim Acosta and April Ryan get to keep their credentials.
The most unrealistic part was showing the other correspondents being quiet and embarrassed when Murphy was attacking Sarah Sanders. In real pressers, they aren’t embarrassed and they certainly aren’t quiet. They are trying to be the next one to be called.
The best part of the show was seeing the outtakes of Sarah as her magnificent self, staring down reporters and shutting down their ridiculous questions.
I love Columbo! Oh, and one more thing Ms Brown...
