Yes, curious that that is the only one with any details. Lots of history, wife is prominent divorce attorney, etc. I’d have to re-read but seemed unclear who they were serving warrant on. I still bet there is lots more to this story than currently reported—especially as the mainstream media links are completely devoid of information.
This guy was a trained shooter. A good sniper will shoot to wound the first target and then pick off his buddies as they emerge from cover to help their friend.
Agreed. If he started shooting when they were 200 yards away it indicates he knew they were coming and decided to make his last stand.
You made a stupid comment and you were called on it. Maybe you should take your own advice.
ooooook
You should have heeded your own advice.
What “stupid comment”? I don’t mean to drag this out but the kneejerk responses to defend the police are over the top. Don’t question my views on police—my late father was one and I know a lot. This particular shooting—all of the mainstream news reports are devoid of information. This morning’s is first to say they were serving a warrant. Even this says nothing on who and if they were at right address. We’ve seen a lot of bad shootings in recent years—swatting, wrong address, etc. The lack of information, is suspicious. Cynical or skeptical? Sure. The post (#23) is most detailed I’ve seen. Offers up a lot of detail. Wife was prominent divorce attorney. Ah, was someone looking for payback? And seven cops shot? Seven to serve warrant? Or did they all come in after the first to walk up and get shot? Maybe bad info, bad training, bad whatever. The whole thing stinks, which is the point of my earliest posts. Too little information. Will be interesting to see how this develops over the coming days.
is that the shooter?
Too many feral thugs, and we must defeat them on their War on Cops.
Looks like an old mentally ill narcissist.....
“The suspect in the shooting of seven law-enforcement officers in South Carolina is a disbarred lawyer who has been charged several times in recent years, starting with a 2014 count of disorderly conduct.”
I dont know. Sonebody posted full size, and I posted resized pic to fit FR format.
In rambling posts on Facebook, Fred Hopkins indicated that he was a Vietnam veteran who was a cancer survivor, an ailment he attributed to Agent Orange exposure. A 2000 court document in an old child support case indicated that he was wounded in Vietnam. Father was injured in the Vietnam war; his sole source of income is his disability check of $1127.00 per month, the documents say, referring to Fred Hopkins.
Fred Hopkins was a disbarred lawyer with a previous disorderly conduct case, according to WPDE. He also had previous cases for animals running at large.
Records from the South Carolina Bar Association indicated that Frederick Hopkins was disbarred in 1984. His name was given as Frederick T. Hopkins, Jr.

The Associated Press reports that Wednesday night, officers
were trying to serve a warrant involving an accusation that
a 27-year-old person in the home sexually assaulted a foster
child in the home.
****
How many were there at first I haven’t seen a number.
Get ready for the cop killing thug to be all over the news.
Interesting, the warrant was being served on a 27-year old believed to be at the home, NOT the homeowner. Back to one of my original questions, was this a no knock warrant that went wrong?
He was sexual abusing a child.
Three went there and were shot, responding officers were shot trying to rescue the men that were down.
