JACKSONVILLE, Fla. Florida authorities say a teenager has been charged in the armed carjacking that killed a police dog named Fang.
News outlets quote the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office as saying a 17-year-old boy is charged with shooting Fang and armed kidnapping. Sheriff's Office Lt. Craig Waldrup said Monday that the boy has admitted to the charges.
An arrest report says the teen got into a car at a gas station and held the driver at gunpoint. It says he later ordered the driver and her passenger out and drove off.
Authorities tracked the car's GPS system and remotely shut the engine off. Deputies say the boy fled the car on foot with K-9 Officer Matt Herrera and the 3-year-old German shepherd in pursuit. They say the boy then fatally wounded Fang.
Give him 40 years, and another 50 for the dog.
That’s the same as killing a human police officer.
Reputedly.
No, it isn’t.
I love police canines.
I’m very sad.
It’s a more difficult shot, but the same otherwise.
Heh..
It really isn’t, and I hope the law reflects the difference.
Evil little punk. Throw him in for the rest of his life with Big Bubba for a cell mate.
Death penalty case as far as I’m concerned.
Well no it’s not actually, but it does carry a serious felony charge, though I personally think it should be the same as killing a human police officer. But this boy deserves a lot of time behind bars. He is guilty of kidnapping and commission of a crime with a deadly weapon, among other charges he will be hit with.
My former co worker’s retired sheriff’s deputy father always broke into tears again when he told the story of his loved and trusted dog in his Wayne County (MI) K-9 unit being deliberately slashed and murdered by a worthless “teen.” The multiple offender “teen” wanted to hurt the deputies and did so without remorse. He grinned at them as he watched the dog suffer and bleed to death in pain.
The criminal did his usual very few years and then parole and back out to rape and maim people, of course.
So much karma building up for the various Dem factions and outright criminals. Hindus believe some karma goes into the next life but some karma can be dealt with here by actions. Building up and storing up bad karma is not supposed to be a good idea.
I know it’s not, and don’t believe it should be.
This is a low-volume list so dont worry!
(Please Freep-mail me if youd like to be on or off the list.)
That’s ridiculous.
A dog’s life and a human life are not equivalent. The dog is still a dog. It’s sad he got killed, for sure.
Consult any Christian theology of you doubt me.
No one is challenging your theology, but if something loses its life protecting and serving my loved ones, it doesn’t matter to me that it never had the option to volunteer or not. I want the perp crucified.
That will all depend on the amount of skin pigment he has and how many of a similar demographic are on the jury. He could walk with time served and community service.
We can agree to disagree I guess.
