Sinakhone Keodara reached his breaking point last July. Loading up Grindr, the gay dating app that presents users with potential mates in close geographical proximity to them, the founder of a Los Angeles-based Asian television streaming service came across the profile of an elderly white man. He struck up a conversation, and received a three-word response: Asian, ew gross.
He is now considering suing Grindr for racial discrimination. For black and ethnic minority singletons, dipping a toe into the water of dating apps can involve subjecting yourself to racist abuse and crass intolerance.
Over the years Ive had some pretty harrowing experiences, says Keodara. You run across these profiles that say no Asians or Im not attracted to Asians. Seeing that all the time is grating; it affects your self-esteem.
Style blogger Stephanie Yeboah faces the same struggles. Its really, really rubbish, she explains. Shes faced messages that use words implying she a black woman is aggressive, animalistic, or hypersexualised. Theres this assumption that black women especially if plus sized go along the dominatrix line.
As a result, Yeboah went through phases of deleting then reinstalling many dating apps, and now doesnt use them any more. I dont see any point, she says.

It's terrible that someone did not want to sodomize or be sodomized by Mr. Keodara because he is Asian. All races should have an equal chance to get AIDS.
First world SJW problem.
“... the gay dating app that presents users with potential mates ...”
Mates? Huh?
Any time they want.
Government forces us to integrate, but our privates lives are still ours and we don’t have to have personal relationships using the Affirmative Action process.
Youre a racist if you dont want to sleep with me.
These people. Go figure.
A court WILL declare it illegal for dating sites to allow people to have preferences of ANY kind.
Tribes of whatever description historically ALWAYS prefer to keep things in-house; grandstanding exceptions only serving to prove the rule.
We are all bigots then aren’t we?
I’m a white man, have only dated white women, and married a white woman.
Is it bigoted if black men and women prefer someone black?
Do they really want to go there?
In our intimate lives we are expected to perform an affirmative action process? What the heck is the complaint here?
Choosing someone for a personal relationship is one of the last areas where it’s okay to express a preference in their appearance. You don’t have to be mean about it, but people express themselves in different ways.
You cannot make somebody want you because it’s politically correct.
That would be the definition of a ‘Mercy F*ck’.
Most people want real passion in that bedroom, not real pity.
Love, and/or marriage are not “Affirmative Action” issues. It is personal preference.
For every 2 white people you 'date' you have to 'date' a black, Hispanics, Asian, or 'other'.
Why do GRINDER and Mr. Keodara 'discriminate' against heterosexuals?
Some people don't like to 'date' Asians. Get over it. Find people with an Asian fetish. I'm sure they're out there.
Wasn't it homosexuals who told us to stay out of their bedrooms?
“Some people don’t like to ‘date’ Asians. Get over it.”

And some Asians don’t like to date other Asians-—the Chinese and the Vietnamese, for example———and I’m sure this is true in other races.
We like what we like.
.
Just because someone does not find someone from a group of people attractive doesn’t mean they hate them. I’m not attracted to old people or children or men, but don’t hate any of those groups.
pretty soon you won’t be able to reject ugly people or fat people either.
Why not?
If I even cared to date, which I do not, I would block people for a whole host of reasons. Its called PREFERENCES and everyone has them.
If this is not acceptable, where are people saying that women can no longer turn down men who ask them out if they dont meet all their preferences? And yup its different since men are the askers 80% of the time.
Doesnt section 230 protect dating apps from this kind of lawsuit?
I had an online friend I played Warcraft with. He was dating a girl with a gay best friend. The gay best friend hit on him incessantly. He repeatedly told him he wasnt gay, wasnt bi and didnt want to go on a date with him.
The response? Youre homophobic!
Its going to get to the point where you have to sodomize someone in public or let them sodomize you to prove you arent homophobic.
Everybody has their brand. Its nobody else’s business what each person is attracted to. Nobody “owes” it to anybody else to find them attractive.
The list of reasons why people will buy sex robots is just getting longer and longer.
