Majority leader again decries Democrats for delay and obstruction
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is insisting the vote on confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court will take place before week’s end.
The Kentucky Republican, speaking on the Senate floor Monday afternoon, said the Democrats chose to hold the allegations against Kavanaugh “in reserve” in order to derail the nomination.
He spoke about how the Democrats who first received the allegations handled them. He specifically mentioned a law firm with “politically connected lawyers” that McConnell says Democrats advised Kavanaugh’s accuser to hire. Those lawyers are set to hold a fundraiser for Democrats this week, McConnell said.

It might. If they’re smart, it will. The Dems are just trying one delay after another, and I think most people realize that their story is pathetically thin and are getting tired of it.
McConnell needs to get Collins and Murkowski into line 100%. Then Mike Pence can break the Senate tie with a yes vote. Flake is too crazy to bargain with plus he can always punk out with a present vote which means he is not counted as a yes or no vote. He is a zero vote.

evidently you need to learn more about politicians and how careful they are about making public statement and announcements that they are 100% certain about.
saying something that will make them look totally stupid is something they are very careful not to do.
McConnell wouldnt make a statement like this if there was a chance it wouldnt happen and he looks totally inept as a leader and stupid.

It will happen. This fiasco shows fickle Republicans like McConnell and Graham actually coalescing into a unit behind Trump.

Flake is hoping that he can show up at the last moment with a “thumbs down” to sink the nomination, just like his buddy, Juan McTraitor did with the vote to overturn Obamacare, all while Chuck-U Schumer looks on with approval!
Nothing Mitch has said about this nomination has been false. I give him props for always following through on what he says about senate confirmations. If he says this week, it’s this week. This gives me great comfort. Not a Mitch fan, but give credit where credit is due.

Kavanaugh has been on the GOP-E short list for the USSC for a long time. Don’t count on any actual change of heart from Graham and McConnell.
Ugly truth of the matter is, Collins and Murkowski likely held him up for more pork in exchange for yes votes. It’s how things are done there.

The Dems will say the FBI investigation wasn’t thorough enough, that it was rushed or too narrow in scope and demand further delay.
