Majority leader again decries Democrats for delay and obstruction
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is insisting the vote on confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court will take place before weeks end.
The Kentucky Republican, speaking on the Senate floor Monday afternoon, said the Democrats chose to hold the allegations against Kavanaugh in reserve in order to derail the nomination.
He spoke about how the Democrats who first received the allegations handled them. He specifically mentioned a law firm with politically connected lawyers that McConnell says Democrats advised Kavanaughs accuser to hire. Those lawyers are set to hold a fundraiser for Democrats this week, McConnell said.

You said that last week, Mitch.
All the more reason that, as unsavory as you may find your Pubbie candidate to be, you must get out and vote for them, they take the leverage away from Murkowski and Collins.
Amen. In fact, they can have all the pork they want in the future if they keep confirming judges. If not, they shouldn't get a penny.
Sort of like he was on their side when he refused to call a vote for Merrick Garland?
Mitch has been 100% ‘K’. You don’t know what you are talking about.
Mitch has been very good when it comes to SCOTUS confirmations, and non-confirmations (Merrick Garland). I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt and hope for the best.
Yup. They can’t play this game if there are 15 RINOs on the fence instead of 3.
No doubt, but the only ones who matter are the 3 stooges vote and they promised to vote yes with an FBI investigation.
I think it will happen if he can get cloture. If Kavanaugh is rejected there is time to push through the next nominee before January. I still think we keep the senate though.
I will go one further than you. If Collins and Murkowski vote no STRIP them of ALL TOO money and tell them to cha be their party affliation. Murkowski has already done that once! And as for Flake, he’s gone to the stinking ash heap after this vote.
Shid, dawg, PAY DEM BYOTCHS
Too was supposed to be GOP
We are going to pick up seats in the Senate.
I believe McConnell, in this case.
I believe McConnell, in this case.
He's not on their side, but he's made himself look bad:
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said Friday that he expects the Senate to vote on Brett Kavanaugh's Supreme Court nomination before the court starts its next term."The timetable typically for recent Supreme Court justices, if we stuck to that timetable and I intend to, would give us an opportunity to get this new justice on the court by the first of October," McConnell told reporters in Kentucky on Friday. linky
Right.
What? That can’t happen! The dims have already said that they want the FIB to question 23 ‘witnesses’. It is a foregone conclusion that Grassley/McConnell will once again cave!
As much as I like to criticize Mitch, Trump is the one who piped-up and said “yeah, let the FBI investigate one more time”.
I think Trump is looking at this as doing political damage to Democrats, and if they want to keep digging the hole why get in their way?
I’m sure you’ve heard by now, FLAKE is saying essentially, that. Pray without ceasing.
