Oh Good God George Will, what a fool.
My thoughts exactly.
I’d trade banning death penalty for banning abortion in a heartbeat
F*** you, George.
L
I changed my mind years ago about this. I am against the death penalty. I don’t trust the State.
In death-penalty cases SCOTUS always looks at how prevalent it is for states (and, when Kennedy was calling the shots, foreign countries) to apply capital punishment to that particular crime (or for murderers of that particular age), so it seems that a punishment that normally wouldn’t be considered cruel (such as, say, death by electrocution) could still be deemed to run afoul of the 8th Amendment if its imposition for such type of crime would be unusual.
Sorry, I want justice.
...execute George Will....
That is so stupid. The threat of the death penalty is often enough to persuade someone that telling the truth in exchange for a life sentence is a better alternative.
Amen!
God tells us to remove evil from among us.
Abolish George Will with the death penalty....not threatening, just wishful thinking.
Abolition of the death penalty cheapens the value of life. It essentially tells citizens their lives are worth less than the lives of murderers because the state finds it inconvenient to kill right back those who kill innocent citizens.
(BTW, are they still claiming the California governorship is "in play" for the GOP? $100 says its "in play" for John Cox the way Hawaii was "in play" for Bush and Connecticut was "in play" for Linda McMahon. We should spend resources elsewhere)
Bush got 45% in HI. More effort and he might have gotten, 47%. Cracking 50 would have been hard, getting over the hill in HI is like pulling teeth.
It’s a pity McMahaon faced the more popular (why I don’t know, the guy is a phocking clown who needs to be punched in the face “Do you believe Anita Hill”?) Blumenthal in 2010 instead of her 2012 foe Chris Murphy. I think she could have beaten Murphy in 2010.
Anyway, polls in Cali have been all over the place, a couple had a single digit race and some here are bullish. I can’t blame them for being optimistic, we have millions of good people there. Trump’s meager 31% there still gave him almost as many votes as he got in Texas or Florida. I don’t want to go poop on our fellow “blue” (as in SAD) staters hopes as we stare down GD fatass JB Prickzer who will probably win with 49% of the vote.
But me, no I don’t think there is any chance that Cox will will win (knowing him from IL I’m still shocked at his relative success). I’d be happy with a respectable performance that helps us out in a few key House and state leg races.
I’m 10000% percent in favor of the death penalty btw. But in the grand scheme it’s not a major issue. It a rare issue where I can respectfully disagree with someone like Cox and not get my drawers in a bunch. I see his religious objections and concerns over cost and raise with “some scumbags need to be wiped off the face the Earth, period, no matter how much our horrible liberal justice system makes it cost. Any small joy they get in prison from eating or spanking the monkey is unacceptable, and if God disagrees he can come down and tell me that himself”.
If you administered this shot to a vein in George Wills arm, how would you know when it worked?
Look at it this way. If George were violently raped, he wouldnt even feel it. The rapist wouldnt have much room to fit in around the 4 diameter wooden rod thats been many feet up there for decades.
Californians say Cox is real. The gas tax and over $4 per gallon hurts. Remember the last time this occurred? Greyout Davis lost.
No, Cox won’t win. But everyone there says that if he’s over 40% it will vastly boost local and House races.
Sabato, Jr., thinks he’s close in his Ventura race (last time it was 6,000 difference with another R.
Kim now up 10, Hunter up big, Rohrabacher probably safe. Some question about Issa’s seat. There are at least two other CA House seats that might flip D-R.
