Jesuit magazine abandons Brett Kavanaugh calls for withdrawing nomination

A major Roman Catholic magazine is calling for withdrawal of Brett Kavanaugh's nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court. The editors at America, a Jesuit publication and the only Catholic weekly in North America, previously endorsed Kavanaugh, citing the possibility that he would make up a court majority to overturn the Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion.

Its reversal this week came amid emotional and grueling testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee by Kavanaugh, who is a judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, and Christine Blasey Ford, a Palo Alto., Calif., psychologist who has accused him of sexual assault when both were teenagers.

This is a very liberal outlet...

There is an article by Breitbart about how this magazine attacked Justice Scalia a month after his death:

http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2016/03/14/jesuit-america-attacks-justice-scalia-one-month-after-death/

This magazine should deal in facts and not OPINIONS BY LIBERAL JESUITS...

Also, given the MESS OUR JESUIT POPE FRANCIS is in, this magazine is extremely wrong to enter into this fray...

Maybe they should change the name to UN-AMERICAN magazine...

Heh, so lies by women with room temp IQs are bad, but truths about gay priests are no problem at all?
And yes, I was raised Catholic.

I guess everyone here knows there isn’t one single provable blemish on Kavanaugh’s record. If he isn’t seated, it will be a travesty.

It needs to be remembered the current Pope is from the Jesuit side of the Catholic Church. If the current Pope has no problem with homsexuals and pedophiles and yet has a problem with nuns taking Vows of Chastity, then is it really a surprise this magazine would be against a good man? (For those not in the know, it’s been spoken of for a bit that this Pope doesn’t believe it’s necessary for the Brides of Christ to stay pure in body.)

Forgot the joke which isn’t a joke: The difference between a Jesuit and a Protestant is that the Protestant admits that they are not Catholic.

Jesuits are a bunch of homosexual heretics. Kavanaugh should welcome their rejection. This is a big plus.

This magazine might be run by Catholics, but I don't consider it a 'Catholic' magazine.

The 'National Catholic Register' is a much better newspaper/magazine for Catholics to read...

And to receive spiritual substance from...

The 'National Catholic Register' is owned by EWTN...

There is the VERY LIBERAL CATHOLIC paper with a similar name, but should be avoided...

This is the LIBERAL 'National Catholic Reporter'

I’ve lived a lot of years. I’ve seen a lot of good and bad. I’ve witnessed “ugly” before... but never as bad as it’s been for the past few years. It’s gotten so much worse in a little time, compared to the years before and the standard and morality of life and living then.

So called “humor” on TV is rude, embarrassing, biased, and full of hate for anyone who differs in beliefs. That goes double for Christians and/or conservatives.

People didn’t used to be rude... society demanded a certain amount of civility. Today, it’s hell’s bells for anyone who says the wrong thing, looks the wrong way, has the wrong background, and doesn’t instantly change or bow to the left at the first sign of having a mind of one’s own.

That’s it. I’m done marrying Catholics. Besides, I already have more than enough sisters-in-law to shake a stick at.

Roman catholic moral authority is actually less than zero. Apparently, they are the last to know.
