President Trump Concedes – Requests “limited” FBI

(snip) --- If President Trump, or any executive branch official acting on his behalf, attempts to set limits on the FBI investigation of a supreme court nominee, the President will have established the legal grounds for his impeachment. I know these people. I know their playbook. As Mr. Bromwich and Ms. Katz stated this is “a step in their process“.

Ms. Ford will avoid being available for an interview for as long as possible. She will then provide a name of a critical witness…. who will also avoid being available for an interview for a long as possible…. who will eventually also give a name of a corroborating witness, perhaps with recordings,… who will avoid being available for an interview for as long as possible…. And so it will go, and so it will go.

Within each step, each day in the process, the insider narrative engineers will be leaking “explosive developments” to the media; who will engage their readers with constructs of wide-eyed interest. Everyone will be enthralled; thousands of leads will be developed; the nation will be absorbed… Democrats will control every nuance.

This is just the way it is. Just like the electorate believes in “muh Russia”.

I will continue to outline the predictable democrat plays as tripwires in advance of them being triggered; hopefully, this will allow us to discuss honestly what is happening.

That said, I disagree completely with this decision by President Trump to defer to the Senate. Even with a tenuous outcome likely, in my brutally honest opinion Mitch McConnell should have been forced to hold a cloture vote on Monday, and a full vote on Tuesday.

Vote should have been forced. The fence sitters bluff called. If Kavanaugh lost so be it. Nominate the next one.

No. This is a dress rehearsal for Dem plans to take down Trump. If the evil Dems are allowed to summarily trash a qualified SCOTUS candidate without any evidence when the Rs hold both the U.S. House and Senate, then our legislative branch and the federal government has crumbled.

Actually, the Republicans ahve agreed to confirm. There are two fringe women .

Although you want to bash Republcans, there are two outliers causing the problem.

And, they might not really be a problem, McConnell seems pretty confident

1) Dems have no limit (at least none we’ve seen in the past)
2) Rs have accepted that making Dems happy (as if that’s possible) is more important than the process or results.

Both of those are long-standing patterns. One of those patterns needs to break if any Trump nominee is to be confirmed - not just Kavanaugh but the next one after he finally gives up on the senate and tries to rebuild his life.

Rs managed to break the pattern for Garland. But that appears to have been a temporary moment of sanity not a change in principles or priorities. And Ds didn’t fight too hard since they knew Hillary would nominate a better (further left) candidate and it gave them an issue to fire up their base. Rs probably would have caved if Ds thought Trump had a chance of winning and selecting the next justice and “asked” them to.

The Senate confirmation is being held hostage by Flake, Collins and Murkowski.

. . . who are negotiating for the lobbyists who own them. A HUGE payoff is waiting for them at the end of the rainbow. The delay is cover; follow the money.

Assuming Kavanaugh is ultimately confirmed I think this works to the advatage of the GOP. The longer this goes on the deeper a hole the Dems will dig for themselves.

I do agree. Was very much against any further investigations until what happened yesterday. Part of me really does not want to cave to the RINOs and Democrats BUT the more I think about it, (assuming the FBI will be impartial) the Judge probably would prefer this deal more than anyone. I feel he may want to be vindicated and not have the doubts (as idiotic as they are) over his head for the rest of his life.

I also believe this is NOT what the accuser(s) want to see happen. If they are found to be untruthful, they could find themselves going to prison for perjury or worse. This, I consider to be obstruction of justice what these accusers have attempted.

They really need to dig deep. After the week period it is found that the Judge was indeed innocent and is confirmed, the FBI needs to take it a step further and look into possible collusion between Senators and the accusers.

Collins and Murkowski need to face a tough primary and hopefully lose.

“”Ask yourself: who STILL runs the FBI?””

I agree there is reason to hope that the FBI is no longer anti-Trump deep-state controlled. I’m sure there are plenty of black hats left in the FBI - but they may not be in charge.

Just several weeks ago, this very case was referred to the FBI, and they took a pass, saying their investigation was “complete”.

It is true that new allegations and questions have surfaced since that time, but still, I thought their decision to pass was very encouraging. After all, wouldn’t a deep state controlled FBI have jumped at the invitation to reopen an investigation into Trump’s SC pick?

Yet, they didn’t.....

Which tells me the people running the FBI are trying to go by the book. Probably not pro Trump, but hopefully wishing to stay neutral.

“When does the week “start?”

Last night. Trump ordered it to begin immediately, to not wait even until today.

They’ve already contacted Ford, I’ll bet the ranch on that. I’ll even go out on a limb and predict they put an immediate crew on her, to keep her in sight. Unless she refuses to be interviewed, they’ll visit her before Monday.

And if she refuses, that will be in the report, and leaked by Monday.

Trump is on this like a madman. He will be calm and relaxed on the outside, but he’s already read the riot act to the FBI regarding delays. Watching like a hawk. Getting realtime updates. Heaven help anyone in the chain of command who drags their feet or tries to go off on tangents. Career limiting move.

They’ve pulled out all stops. 24/7 massive effort. The agents are on Trump’s side, and on his radar. They know it. Time to impress the Big Cheese. Promotions and firings on the line.

Come Tuesday, surprise! We’re already done. Here’s your report, Mitch. Ford refused to meet.

A full BI investigation of Kavanaugh was done before Trump nominated him.

What Trump ordered was a “SUPPLEMENTAL” investigation.

Kavanaugh himself most likely will not be investigated again but his ACCUSERS will be since the FBI hadn’t investigated their claims.

It is also possible the Trump has already ordered an investigation of the accusers when their charges were first made thereby reducing much of the investigation required.

Absolutely NO. Kavanaugh HAS to be confirmed in a very short time to be able to sit in the next session of the Supreme court.
