That said, I disagree completely with this decision by President Trump to defer to the Senate. Even with a tenuous outcome likely, in my brutally honest opinion Mitch McConnell should have been forced to hold a cloture vote on Monday, and a full vote on Tuesday.

Most of us believe the FBI investigation will be a sham .....BUT.....the resultant FBI report is handed off to Trump.
That is the key here.
I now understand why he agreed to it.
Democrats are irreversibly stupid if they think Trump will allow the FBI to set the terms for Kav’s confirmation.
Please, please, please FBI, investigate the mental health of the accuser.

Assuming Kavanaugh is ultimately confirmed I think this works to the advatage of the GOP. The longer this goes on the deeper a hole the Dems will dig for themselves.

At this point, it is what it is. Thursday morning, I thought Kav was toast. Thursday afternoon, I thought he might sail to confirmation on R votes (I don’t expect a single Dem vote). Yesterday morning, the turd flinging Dem baboons were at it again - they NEVER give up. In the afternoon, Flakey the backstabber had, at a minimum, temporarily derailed the Kav confirmation. I went for an 8 mile walk to blow off the sick/headache stress.
As I said, it is what it is. For sure, everyone who can should get out and vote R down the line, even if you have to hold your nose. A “stinky” R is NOT A DEM when it comes to holding majorities and it is a condition of survival for the country & the ‘right’ to hold majorities on committees, retain leadership, and avoid impeachment (attempts or actual) of Trump & Kav, if he does get confirmed. The thought of Maxine Waters running the finance committee or FeinSwine running judiciary should make everyone’s blood run cold. Now is not the time to “teach the Repubs a lesson” because of the three that are causing an issue. If we have more “R”s, then 1, 2 or 3 Senators like Flake, Murkowski & Collins cannot so easily hold the Trump agenda hostage, as is going on now. My 2 cents & time for another de-stressing walk. Saw a video with Dan Bongino yesterday - he said he was “exhausted” so I don’t feel like such a wimp with stress symptoms.

The statute of limitations has no bearing on a background investigation, or on the vote of a Senator.

This s not bad. Once the FBI comes back and says “Huh? there’s nothing here” then it will be over.
I think that the easiest way to get to Trump is thru Ivanka. I think that she is a total snowflake who is scared by all of this “mean” stuff. So if somebody is whispering in her ear, and she goes sobbing to daddy, all bets are off. That’s just a totally wild guess on my part though.
How can it be obstruction of justice against Trump when it’s not a legal criminal procedure being conducted by the FBI? There’s no prosecutor, no grand jury, no judge, no subpoena. This is basically to update Kavanaugh background files a little more throughly than what the FBI originally noted when they peeked into the Dr Ford information
