Trump touts FBI investigation of Kavanaugh: He'll some day be recognized as a 'truly great' justice

President Trump touted the beginning of what he called the “seventh” FBI investigation into Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, expressing confidence for the judge's nomination, despite facing multiple allegations of sexual misconduct.

“Just started, tonight, our 7th FBI investigation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh,” Trump tweeted on Friday night. “He will someday be recognized as a truly great Justice of The United States Supreme Court!”

Trump asked the FBI to investigate sexual assault allegations against Kavanaugh after Senate Republicans agreed to a one-week investigation, temporarily delaying the judge's nomination to the Supreme Court.

“I’ve ordered the FBI to conduct a supplemental investigation to update Judge Kavanaugh’s file. As the Senate has requested, this update must be limited in scope and completed in less than one week,” Trump said in the statement released by the White House.

The Senate Judiciary Committee requested that Trump instruct the FBI to conduct a supplemental investigation after Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) secured a deal to delay a floor vote on the nomination for a week.

“I think it would be proper to delay the floor vote for up to but not more than one week in order to let the FBI to do an investigation limited in time and scope,” he said during the Senate Judiciary Committee vote on Kavanuagh.

Flake said he was voting to advance the judge “with that understanding” and said he has spoken “to a few other members on my side of the aisle who support it as well.”

The Arizona Republican added that senators should do “what we can to make sure that we do all do diligence with a nomination this important.”

The move came a day after the committee heard testimonies from Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford, the first woman to accuse Kavanaugh of sexual assault.

Ford went public with her allegations on Sept. 16 in an interview with The Washington Post, alleging that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her while the two were at a high school party in the 1980s.

Ford detailed her allegations in a gripping testimony Thursday before the Senate Judiciary Committee. The now 51-year-old college professor said she feared Kavanaugh might rape her and accidentally kill her when he allegedly put his hand over her mouth to stifle her screams for help.

Kavanaugh denied the allegations brought by Ford, as well as several other allegations of sexual misconduct that have surfaced against him, in a heated testimony following Ford's.

Stop with the negativity? You must be smoking pixie dust. Your naivete is only exceeded by your political ignorance.

How is Trump betraying us ? Are you daft? Simply do not request an FBI investigation. Tell them to shove it. I want an up or down tomorrow morning—come what may.

“Trump forces the issue

Genius.”

Maybe the best President in modern times.

Trust Trump. He is far smarter than the brightest of his enemies. He has a VERY short learning curve.

Trump is like the king calling down to Daniel in the lions den. Hold on Kavanaugh your God will vindicate you and the lions won’t harm you.
Instead the king tossed the evil schemers who persecuted Daniel into the lions den and instead it was they who got torn to pieces.

Ford’s lawyers appear to be extremely uncomfortable about this FBI investigation.

Maybe there’s a method behind this madness?

Trump is appeasing no one. His “appeasement” of the North Koreans has led to the missile testing stopped and the nuclear program being dismantled.

We need more of this appeasement.

Kavanaugh’s done, stick a fork in him. Trump and the GOP have so royally betrayed us. They deserve to burn in hell.
*****************************************************
You really need to pay attention. The people most in legal jeopardy from the FBI looking into Ford’s accusations are Ford herself plus her leftist attorney handlers. Based upon the many discrepancies that have arisen from her testimony, she could well be found to have engaged in false testimony and her handlers could be found to have illegally solicited and/or facilitated that false testimony. There’s a lot just under the surface that could be uncovered.

“Some Always Trumpers here call it “genius” (sic), but frankly I’m yet to see it and I think rather it is misplaced Christian Benevolence towards adversaries, when what we should be using on these people is a closed iron fist.”

i tend to agree and, unfortunately, Christian benevolence can be abused by the recipient.
