Because three liberal Republicans demand it or else they're voting 'no'. IE...We Don't have the votes right now.

“We” could have gotten them - or the votes of enough Dems - if somebody had hung in there. It was Trump who approved this. I don’t know what he was thinking of, and it’s not 3-D chess. He caved, which is why the FISA stuff hasn’t been released, Sessions and Rosenstein still have jobs, and Kavanaugh is now being hauled up for another “investigation.” And supporters like Graham are now being hung out to dry.

What is the matter with Trump? I want to support him, but he’s beginning to look a lot like Bush.

Yes. I don’t like this anymore than anyone else, but this has been the reality since this Congress started January 5 , 2016. If we don’t get these new Trump senators it continues. The budget they just passed is a joke.

You hit the nail on the head!

My concern would not be the extension to investigate but the investigator. If we've learned anything, we've learned that the DOJ and FBI have been politicized and by politicized, I mean they favor and cover for democrats. Furthermore, Mueller has shown us that our government will use its tremendous power to put you in prison, not for the crime investigated but for procedural traps laid by the DOJ and FBI.

God help restore our freedom and republic!

Bullsquirt. You think those three liberal repubs couldn’t be strongarmed by the GOP whip and leader if they WANTED to?
He could remove them from committees, cut off campaign cash, kill boutique programs they want in their states. They could call the governors of Alaska, Arizona, and Maine and tell them their Senators are about to cost their state any favorable treatment in the Senate.
You could present them with a list of their donors that are about to be informed that the Senator they bought is about to be unable to help them much.

There are a million ways they could deal with those three turds. It’s very disingenuous to pretend McConnell and Cornyn were helpless because of those three.

The “limited” FBI investigation is a can of worms that can not end well for Kavanaugh or the Republicans. It would have been preferable to call a floor vote and get the Republicans voting again Kavanaigh on record. Kavanaugh will never be confirmed now. It’s over.
