Kavanaugh Hearing Was The Democrats' Worst Nightmare
townhall.com ^ | Sep 28, 2018 | Mark Davis

In almost forty years of broadcasting and writing, I’ve spent a lot of time tracking the fates of the Republican and Democrat parties. In recent years, the main conservative thirsts have been for a more muscular and unapologetic conservatism and for the bright light of truth to be directed onto the darkest habits of modern leftists.

The election of Donald Trump has propelled us down a road featuring satisfying helpings of both. But on one stunning day, September 27, 2018, there arose Republican resolve like nothing in recent memory. The accompanying reputational suicide of several key Democrats tied a bow around a historic day for clarity.

The occasion was the totally unnecessary session of testimony by Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and his main accuser of sexual misbehavior, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford. The occasion was needless because Dr. Ford’s story in no way rises to the level of credibility to dislodge the nomination.

No decent society smears people for life based on high school misbehavior, so even if the wholly unsupported story were true, there would have been a strong argument against its relevancy today.

As such, the rhythm became: five minutes of Ms. Mitchell poking through questions of fact and memory, interrupted by five minutes of Democrat grandstanding. Then five more minutes of Ms. Mitchell seeming to inch closer to a salient point, only to be buzzered by the need to recognize the next round of Democrat fawning and prattling.

..snip..

But as soon as Judge Kavanaugh completed his opening statement, it became clear what the afternoon matinee would contain: Republicans showing more spine than they have in years, accompanied by Democrats making total asses of themselves.

Damn right it isn’t over, Kavanaugh hammered them hard yesterday, but ever since then they have been regrouping and plotting.
OPTIMALLY -— K gets voted out of Committee tomorrow
WITH full Senate vote on Saturday. Get this over and done with.

From my conservative friends, who still talk to liberals many women including some liberals, are looking at this from the perspective that Kavanaugh could have been their father or brother or son. My belief is that this charade isn’t playing as well with liberals as the Democrats hoped it would.

She actually did present a resume of her life, how completely fake and ignorant she is by admitting she did not know how to contact authorities, Executive or Congressional offices concerning her “notes”. Her distracted space cadet demeanor is a perfect name for it. In fact you nailed it! And holy crap a PhD? This is who we issue PhD’s to? Maybe she should be the one permanently sitting in the psychiatric chair being questioned. God knows I’d never want to reveal problems in my life to this mentally ill quack job.

Dollar Stores all over the country better start stocking more of those yearly calendar booklets, the 2019 date books - every high school student will start recording their daily activities - for posterity.

“Sadly, by abandoning Moore, RINOs gave Heflin’s seat to Doug Jones, one of Heflin’s former aides.”

....til 2020....then Jones’ party ENDS.

Moore was a BAD candidate from the git go. Limited appeal to begin with, he was ripe for torpedoing. Aaahhh .. I don’t want to revisit that again ... it really stunk losing that seat, even if its just for 2 years ...

...you say that RINOs gave Jones his seat? They got some RINOs down in ‘Bama? I thought Moore lost because the traditional conservative GOP vote didn’t turn out ...

Seriously. The woman repeatedly pronounced 'et cetera' as 'eck cetera.' (That particular mispronunciation is like nails on a chalkboard for me). Ph.D? Stanford affiliate? What a freakin' joke so many of these academic types are.

A competent Republican Party could end the Democratic Party for good with this.

Democratic Party = “Rape Hoax Party”

She’s a walking, talking slam-dunk argument for anti-credentialism.

I watched the 8-min clip of him and Hannity...I would strongly recommend folks go and review it. Fairly strong statements and it’s some side of Graham that I felt simply did not exist...yet he stepped up and delivered a five-star moment at the hearing.

God, I hate Mark Davis. How does he deserve a national radio or print platform?

Why bother? No need for stinkin' date books. The NSA is already capturing the data, and we are paying for it, and those kids soon will be, too.

I did not watch all of Ford today but what I saw I thought see seemed dumb maybe that was an act. I do not think she was compelling at least from what I saw but this is all you hear on some news shows.

If I needed a psychologist I would not choose her.
