BREAKING: We Have The Votes
Town Hall ^

Posted on 09/27/2018 8:22:46 PM PDT by TigerClaws

With the Senate Judiciary Committee holding a vote at 9:30 A.M. tomorrow, a Senate insider has told Townhall that Kavanaugh has the votes to make it out of committee and the votes to be confirmed on the floor for a seat on the U.S. Supreme Court. Sens. Flake (R-AZ), Collins (R-ME), Murkowski (R-AK), and Manchin (D-WV) are expected to vote in favor of Kavanaugh. All the Republicans are voting yes. Also, in the rumor mill, several Democrats may break ranks and back Kavanaugh. That’s the ball game, folks.

It was an intense and hellacious day at the Senate Judiciary Committee. Christine Blasey Ford, the woman accusing Judge Brett Kavanaugh of an attempted rape while at a high school party, told her story of her alleged sexual assault. It was intense. It was emotional. And it still lacked evidence, witnesses, and other corroborating details. It’s an unprovable allegation, which is what Democrats want; it allows them to delay and run out the clock on this nomination. The FBI investigation talking point has been beaten to death by Senate Democrats, another delay tactic that has been undercut by past remarks by none other than Joe Biden. When he chaired the committee during the Clarence Thomas confirmation hearings, Biden famously said that FBI reports are inconclusive and should not be relied on during sexual misconduct allegations.

Brett Kavanaugh testified later this afternoon, giving an emotional and fiery defense of his character and career after it had been under a sustained assault by the Left for over a week. Kavanaugh said that the allegations—all three of them—were false and have irreparably damaged his reputation and damaged his family life. He said this process had become a national disgrace, with Democrats replacing advise and consent with search and destroy. Kavanaugh needed to come out swinging. He needed to be tough. And he did just that.

If we gain a greater majority in November, (and I believe God will make it so) the democrats power will be drastically decreased, literally and figuratively demoralizing and weakening them. They think, right now, that they have ginned up enough outrage against President Trump, et al, but they have seriously overestimated the degree of that outrage, and underestimated the surge of support and confidence for Trump and conservatism. They have foolishly believed their own lies, and will end up a party in shambles, with no idea in common, of how to rebuild it.

If K is confirmed before Sunday, I predict you will not hear the name on the Sunday shows...

... they’ll pivot to something else.

I will not defend the Bushes. Like you, I am very down on them, believe that they did a lot of damage to the country and find their support for the Clintons despicable. However, if it’s true that W is trying to help BK get over the line, well, kudos to him for this one thing.

This stank of desperation — one accuser, no other witnesses, and a story that took decades to appear (and when it appeared she shared it with odd people).

Do Democrats understand “karma”? The standard they promulgate will end up being used upon them. They gave up their kingdom for a failed stalking horse. And this has nothing to do with being liberal and everything to do with being illiberal. The very term “liberal” was stolen just as “gay” has been stolen.

If Judge Kavanaugh is confirmed, Republicans will see an unprecedented boost in voter morale and an enormous turnout. If not, well...probably the opposite.

And with what the President’s Administration has in store for us with a happier and stronger nation, Trump country Democrats who vote to confirm will have a great future.

With all due respect, garbage hasn’t destroyed Judge K’s reputation at all, except among people who would believe garbage in the first place. He waileth too much about it, making his climb harder than it needs to be.

Until they actually take the floor vote, the Dems still have time to pull something else. Maybe a procedural maneuver or something like that.

Yes. Highly likely. Otherwise, they'd be tossing whatever they could salvage for Democrats in elections right out the window.

The more they dwell on the confirmation afterwards, the more their Democrat viewers would sink into a funk of listless and lethargic depression and forget about voting. Shows about Kavanaugh being appointed would increase Republican morale even more.

So you're most likely right about that.

“Had me until the mention of some Democrats voting in favor. Doubtful”

Manchin easily could. If he wants to be re-elected in Trump-loving WV.

Five RINO governors, led by NeverTrumper Kasich are calling for the an FBI investigation before any votes are cast. Hopefully Grassley and
McTurtle will ignore these stalling tactics.

I believe there is a specified timeline for these votes to play out. But I wish they could do the full Senate vote tomorrow just after the committee vote.

Brett was just a bit of a squishy MODERATE before; now? LOL...I bet that he’s now father to the right! :-)

Yes, unfortunately he is but we were fighting for his confirmation for something bigger than him. Remember, if we can get a larger maj in the senate the next nomination when RBG “retires” will be a real conservative female. They shot their wad this time around.

On Twitter, several reporters are saying George W. Bush has called Flake, Collins, Murk, Manchin and Corker today to “whip” votes for Kav. Awesome.

Yes, we are fighting for Brett, for our future nominee, and for the RULE OF LAW over tyranny!

The damned lefties already have prepared and are still working on smear campaigns for the other future nominees for judges and Justices on Trump's list. Which is yet another reason WHY we all have to go vote AND take others to vote for the GOP candidates this November! We need bigger majorities in both Houses!
