The Senate Judiciary Committee has scheduled a Friday morning vote on Brett Kavanaugh's nomination to the Supreme Court, according to a committee notice.
The vote on Kavanaugh is slated to come just one day after he is scheduled to testify in front of the panel on allegations of sexual misconduct.
One of the two women who has come forward to accuse Kavanaugh of misconduct, Christine Blasey Ford, is also scheduled to testify on Thursday.
As a procedural matter, the Judiciary Committee today noticed a potential executive business meeting for Friday, September 28 at 9:30 a.m, Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley's (R-Iowa) office said in the notice.
Committee rules normally require executive business meetings to be noticed three days in advance, so an executive business meeting is being noticed tonight in the event that a majority of the members are prepared to hold one on Friday, they added.
The vote was initially set for Monday but postponed after committee staff and lawyers for Ford got a deal on a public hearing.

GREAT!! But she is showing up on Thursday for MORE CIRCUS ANTICS!
According to Drudge, Ford has asked that the Senate limit press access for the hearing and that she choose which outlets get to cover. Let me guess. CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS, MSNBC..No FOX allowed. Will they cave on this ridiculous request and, if they do not, will she refuse to appear?
Kavanaugh should right out after he’s confirmed and say that he will rule against Roe versus Wade. Just to spite these idiots.
The committee votes Friday. Then over the weekend, the Repubs start the procedural mechanism to allow a vote. I don't know how long that procedure takes.
Whoever is responsible for those threats can take credit for hindering the delay of the hearing and vote."
A welcome outcome from three weeks worth of Democrats bad behaviours!
When Big K's daughters had to be protected from mudslime Linda Sarsour on the first day of Senate hearings, you knew right then it would take an all-hands-on-deck from FReepers to shepherd this nomination through...
This is NOT what Grassley put on Twitter 25 minutes ago.
If were ready to vote we will, if were not we wont
I have received serious, credible accusations that Senator Blumenthal lied publicly while campaigning about being a Vietnam Veteran.
They need to start giving the Supremes 24x7 Secret Service protection including an official food taster.
Good job, Yertle! Grassley played a masterful hand if it passes out of committee on Thursday
About time. The floor vote should be scheduled for the same day.
Thursday, right after lunch would be better but Friday is much better than next week.
I can not wait to see liberal heads explode when he is confirmed, and he will be confirmed!
What happens if the dems don’t show up?
That would not be wise. What Kavanaugh should say is “My unfair treatment at the hands of the Democrat Party, the media, and the Senate confirmation process has only strengthened my commitment to due process and the presumption of innocence. All Americans should live free from the fear that unsubstantiated allegations should lead to punishment without due process, that a defendant is innocent until proven guilty, and that the burden of proof is on the accuser. I will be looking out for every American by ensuring that the limitations on government power defined in the Constitution are enforced thereby protecting Americans against tyrannical government, prosecutorial abuse, and the predations of powerful institutions and corporations."
He would be really golden ruling it! I like it.
will they actually vote when she won’t testify?
maybe he was talking about democrats and Ellison?
shes looking for any reason to no show..
if she shows her goose is cooked and her liers know it. er lawyers.
I hope so.
