Westwood One is shaking up its weekday afternoon Conservative Talk block in January 2019.
Michael Savage’s “The Savage Nation” will cut back from three hours to one hour daily from 3-4pm eastern while Ben Shapiro takes over the 4-6pm slot. Cumulus launched Ben Shapiro on six stations in April including a live clearance on 770 WABC New York and delayed clearances on WMAL Washington DC, WLS Chicago, WYAY Atlanta, and KABC Los Angeles. The live show will be separate from Shapiro’s daily podcast.
It is that daily podcast/live broadcast model that Savage will switch to. He will host the daily afternoon show as well as a separate daily podcast in January.

Savage has a unique ability to cram 15 minutes of information into three hours. Going to be tough for him to get that 15 minutes crammed into just one hour.
Yeah he doesn’t appear to appreciate Steve Bannon.
I’ve seen reports that Little Ben’s current ventures are financed by a hedge fund billionaire who despises Trump. Can’t remember the guy’s name but it’s not a secret.
Ben Shapiro has a whiny, irritating voice. Savage is nuts, but in an entertaining way, at least in small doses. Shapiro is instant chalkboard.
Call up Chris Plante from WMAL 9 - noon and syndicate him nationwide.
HE is awesome. Stream him or listen to a podcast and start the demand. He is better than Shapiro plus Savage put together, who each have some significant flaws, as pointed out here.

If we lose Trump (God forbid) then we go back to Jeb Bush and Romney and self-enriching Deep State pals who sell out the electorate to compromise with the across the aisle monsters like Schumer. That’s the choice. Trump or GOPe losers and no more voting from us.

Ben Shapiro is the butt of many jokes, I don't see him as the upgrade to Savage, but Savage is an old guy and deserves a less hectic work schedule.
I also thing three hours a day is a long time for anyone to talk without repeating themselves frequently. I suspect his show will be more focused and better in the 1 hour format.
The only time i listen to radio is in the car and I have XM. Shows that aren't on XM I probably won't ever listen to. For some reason Shapiro was on XM yesterday morning, first time I've heard him speak.
He has a really horrible grating voice.
So, while I like the general plan of helping Savage move to tighter more condensed format, and going web / broadcast is a great idea, I don't think that Shapiro is really the "next big thing in talk".
Remember when he totally cucked and white-knighted the chick who accused Corey Lewandowski of man-handling her. He went insane virtue signaling, denoucned Breitbart coworkers and left in a huff --- only to find out the video showed she was LYING.
Considering the small percentage of American's conservatives who are Jews they make up a large percentage of talk show and thought leaders in the movement.
Michael Savage, Michael Medved, Mark Levin, Denis Prager, Dr. Laura. So, he's the next generation of that trend.

24% are good people, meaning 24% voted for Trump.
That is my absolute measurement without compromise. Everybody else compromise. I won’t.
So I learn Shapiro is a usually Never Trumper and a pro Romney bot.

Our allies in the conservative movement, to my mind, are like your fitness. You take them as they are. Shapiro tries hard to be objective on Trump and sometimes he succeeds more than at other times. For example when he said that Trump was wrong in wanting to cancel the security clearances of the old administration guys. All that said, I like him. Savage, on the other hand, is just a nut. It happened that I heard his very first show many many years ago when he was on Saturday nights on KGO. He’s gone downhill over the years though I admit that I haven’t listened to
Him since 9 11 01 when he claimed with no evidence at all and contrary to the facts that bush fled Washington on 9 11 because he as a coward when, as we all know, he was already out of town

Totally agree. And it seems obvious that he doesn’t prepare for his show. Too bad because because sometimes Savage can be very brilliant.
I agree that Shapiro is a sometimes Trumper. I like Ben and I’m hopeful that I will be able to hear him on our local station.
