Deputy Attorney General Rod J. Rosenstein will stay in the job for now, but will meet with the president on Thursday, White House officials said Monday, after officials described a series of private discussions that pointed to his resignation or firing.
At the request of Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, he and President Trump had an extended conversation to discuss the recent news stories, said White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders. Because the President is at the United Nations General Assembly and has a full schedule with leaders from around the world, they will meet on Thursday when the President returns to Washington, D.C.
The announcement capped a tense few hours after officials said Rosenstein had told White House officials over the weekend that he was willing to resign in the wake of revelations that he once suggested secretly recording President Trump.
On Monday morning, White House officials said Rosenstein had offered to resign to quell the controversy, while Justice Department officials said he had no intention of resigning but was heading to the White House with the expectation he would be fired.
After Rosenstein met with White House Chief of Staff John F. Kelly, he proceeded to a meeting of senior administration officials, indicating that at least for the moment, he was staying on the job.

The prez has to be in town to move anything around
I’d tell him, just pretend joking around of course, that his job is secure, until election day in November.
Thursday is gonna be Tsunami of shit storms ..
AG Sessions is at a symposium in Hoover, Alabama, just south of Birmingham, taking no questions about the goings on in DC.
POTUS is not accepting Rosenstein’s resignation. Brilliant. Make him squirm on the hook.

It’s only okay if Rosenstein names the other coup members and puts an end to the Russia investigation. Can anyone seriously say that investigation isn’t tainted? The guy in charge of the guy in charge joked about removing the President of the US from office, for heaven’s sake!
Hmmmm. What is the possibility that RR will recuse instead of resigning? He is giving PDJT a heads up; but has determined that yes, he is conflicted in this matter. He likes his job/position and would have a hard time finding continued government work. That means he’d have to get a real job for the first time in his life.

What else is new? Jeff hasnt had any idea abouts going on in DC for a long time.

Ok, all things considered now: Rosenstein has already pretty much tried to resign, the WH not wanting to interfere with Kavanaugh proceedings, demurred on accepting yet. Now Rod is attempting his own childlike version of 4D chess. But there is no coming back from this, not really
10-1 the reason for all the false news around this today is that ROSENSTEIN LEAKED that he was going to the WH to be asked, he thought, for his resignation. talk about me, me me
Good. As soon as Kavanaugh is confirmed, fire Rosenstein and Sessions and censure Finestein.
That means hed have to get a real job for the first time in his life.

Yes, a job where you can’t get away with playing games with your boss.
How has not recused himself from mueller? It seems like a no brainer.
Rosenweasel should not be allowed to resign, he should be terminated.
Short of immediate termination, he should be flown to some very lengthy, unpleasant meetings where he is the guest of honor, to be held at the GITMO facility. Very lengthy, very unpleasant meetings. Afterwards, once he has provided complete, consistent, verifiable, and accurate retelling of his many many crimes and co-conspirators, sure termination is a good course of action.
