Tiger Woods has staged one of the greatest comebacks from injury and controversy in sport by winning his first PGA tournament in five years.
The former World Number One roared to victory at the FedEx Tour Championships in Georgia on Sunday night in front of thousands of fans.
A huge crowd ran up the fairway and swamped the 18th green in frantic scenes in a bid to watch Woods sink the last putt of his round, and end his title drought.
Woods, who has battled back from a crippling back injury and dealt with the backlash from a DUI arrest, tapped his ball in from a few feet to secure the long-awaited victory.
He paused for a moment, raised his arms aloft to the cheering crowd and then walked over to his restaurant manager girlfriend Erica Herman, who was waiting for him.
Woods kissed the 33-year-old, hugged her and said 'I love you'...

Oh Please. The sport writers sure love this guy. If l think about it l bet l can figure out why.
Would like to see a Sunday pairing of Woods and Koepka sometime.
Does anyone else find it interesting that, after languishing 5 years, the guy says something nice about D Trump and two weeks later, he plays perfect golf?
Who else has seen the opposite hold; e.g., megy kelly, gramnesty, kasich, carly — all badmouth him and go into a long, sudden slide?
I’m happy for Tiger, but I didn’t once hear him thank the fans?

Outstanding TIGER!!!!!
I watched the final round yesterday, so happy for Tiger!!! The outpouring of love from the teeming crowds was wonderful to see.
Yes, Tiger is not a perfect person and his infidelities were extremely disappointing. Have all the girlfriends you want, Tiger, just don’t get married again, you’re not good at being a husband.
I remember in 1987 when a 21-year old guy by the name of “Tiger” started winning tournaments.
Too much sex.
I remember when Eldrick Tont (Tiger’s real name LOL) was 2 or 3 years old, sinking puts on The Mike Douglas Show!
Boy do I feel old LOL!
Fine, I didn’t hear it yesterday that’s all.
The impression I get from the MSM and the sports writers/commentators is that they want him to stay destroyed. They salivated over every minute of his personal and professional decline and it galls them to see him return. The gallery was deafening while the commentators seemed hell bent and determined to see Rose win. Bit of premature celebration there. LOL
Eldrick has just been away on his home planet of Cablanasia for the past 10 years and has now returned to planet Earth to reinhabit his human form.

Walked into a sports bar, with golf blaring Sunday afternoon... Now, mind you, Football was on every TV in the place except the one at the bar.... And other than 3 patrons at the bar, the place was empty...
It wasn’t hard to figure out why the place had no one in it....
I don’t care who is competing, you aren’t going to get a crowd to show up at a bar to watch golf... and anyone on a sunday afternoon going to a “sports’ bar, is going to walk out if that’s what you are focusing on...
I have to wonder how much longer that place will be open
He acknowledged the fans in the press conference as being part of the support structure that has helped him recover.
He’s worked his way up from servers to manager. Congrats Tiger!
(Couldn’t resist but I do enjoy his comeback)
good to hear, I only hear the comments at the trophy award ceremony.
Quite a surprise. I thought Woods would never win another golf tournament. (Too many good younger golfers)
