Nobody told us.
They screwed up. Chick-fil-a can tell you that.
Or it really wasn’t a gourmet sandwich?
5.56mm
He should have changed the name to MAGA Sandwiches
And opened them up in the south and midwest, guy would be a billionaire by now
I call bs on this story. Mismanagement is a more likely cause...
I’d almost approve a bail-out for that guy, considering the circumstances.
.
Too much time glad-handing politicians; not enough time fine-tunning his business!
.
This is BS. More MSM lies. No doubt that this chain was going down no matter what.
Don’t discount this story. In Portland, Oregon a meetup group supporting Trump had a first meeting. One of the participants invited those who attended it to a gathering at their restaurant. At the gathering others in the restaurant overheard the pro Trump talk, went on social media and began to give negative reviews of the restaurant, threats were made against the owner. Long story short the owner left the business and had to hide. The pro-Trump meetup folded.
It was vicious and had the wanted results by the leftist in Portland.
I was going to say it could be for real based on this line;
“Seventeen locations are in D.C. and surrounding areas and two more are in Chicago.”
But then I went to the Washingtonian and saw;
“How did we get here? Taylor Gourmets official line is that its rapid expansion may have been too much, too fast. Patten told the Washington Business Journal last week that Taylor Gourmet stores were still profitable, but he was considering closing three locations. He blamed changes in the fast-casual world and increased competition driving up real estate prices. He said the problem was that some of the stores had more square footage than they needed.
However, three people familiar with the company say sales began to decline after owner Patten met with President Donald Trump at a small business roundtable at the White House in January 2017.”
>>>However, three people familiar<<<
Ding Ding Ding, we have fakenews.
DC went 90% for ILLary. Given that,I can believe that politics was a key factor.I know that I boycott various companies because of politics.
Sometimes it’s because the food just sucks.
Yes, amazing isn’t it?
This is the same city that has newspapers etal continually reporting how HATED PDT is, how the world hates US because of PDT
THEN
They sue PDT for having Hotels and Restaurants in HIS name which give him an unfair advantage of other businesses because his ‘popularity’ attracts local and foreign customers
I guess this is what shows up in the Funk&Wagnalls when you ask about a ‘Love/Hate’ relationship.
The title of the piece...
Sandwich Chain Closes Because Customers Can't Stomach That Owner Met Donald Trump
...has nothing to do with what really happened... (emphasis added)
Patten faced the backlash after an event in January 2017 with the president at the Small Business Administration. Taylor gave a short speech to Trump about how the food industry relies on immigrants and the American-born children of immigrants for staff, and Pattens desire to reduce regulations that would affect his employees.
Just insert "illegal" in front of "immigrants", and there you have the backlash.
Build the Wall, deport those who chose to be here illegally, MAGA.
Misleading headline. In the article: Taylor gave a short speech to Trump about how the food industry relies on immigrants and the American-born children of immigrants for staff, and Pattens desire to reduce regulations that would affect his employees.
I guess the customers did not appreciate the owners attacks on Trumps immigration policies.
Yahoo News is pure sh*t.
A more complete story. Leftist Yahoo news sucks.

Patten faced the backlash after an event in January 2017 with the president at the Small Business Administration. Taylor gave a short speech to Trump about how the food industry relies on immigrants and the American-born children of immigrants for staff, and Pattens desire to reduce regulations that would affect his employees.
A D.C. neighborhood site, PoPville, posted an item about Pattens attendance and a link to a photo. A social-media furor resulted.
Patten said later that he is apolitical, and he used his opportunity with the president to push small-business issues. President Barack Obama appeared at one of Taylor Gourmets outlets in 2012, and spoke about challenges facing small businesses with Patten and co-founder David Mazza.
Lost on the idiots that protested is that he was arguing on behalf of immigrants.
You go broke if you call them "hoagies" anywhere but Philadelphia ...
Chain based around DC and Chicago.
Nuff said.
We are dealing with a fanatic cult. My music teach er of 14 years will no longer talk to me because I refused too vote for Hillary and got into an argument with her when she said Trump was Hitler (this was before the election).
