Friday on MSNBCs Deadline, former campaign strategist for George W. Bush and the late John McCains 2008 fail presidential campaign Steve Schmidt said in the midterm elections, Republican lawmakers were in a lose-lose situation concerning President Donald Trumps nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh.
Schmidt said Theyre in a lose-lose situation now. You would see a demoralized base. It would be a major defeat for the president. He will be seen to have backed down. The base will be angry. It will be enraged at Republican Senators who they think will have betrayed the president. But also if they force it through and Kavanaugh is confirmed, it will intensify passions on the Democratic side. It will drive women turnout in this election in 2018, and I think that whatever the size of the blue tsunami thats comingand I think there is one comingI think its going to grow. I think it could be the difference, for example, between Beto ORourke narrowly being defeated by Ted Cruz and Beto ORourke narrowly winning that race.

Well, I feel better. Schmidt is always wrong. Always.
This is outside SanFran statium (it's next to a canal)
Snicker.
Didn’t he quit the Repub party?
This clown Schmidt has been around a long time and he has always been a Democrat, he is also the fool that advised the Girly Man in California to implement all his socialist ideas, I find it Amazing he has a job, he has NEVER been right about anything in politics.
Yep, Schmidt is full of it.
All he can do now to get a paycheck is entertain liberals and tell them what they want to hear.
There isn't a more despicable group of people than former Republican strategists. I pray all of them end up in poverty.
She’s been working on perfecting that legs akimbo look for forty years.
A canal that collects rainwater drainage from Frisco's pristine sidewalks, perhaps ?
If the female electorate actually falls for this sham and votes for the communists as a result, this country was dead man walking a long time ago anyway.
I have no idea - there are articles to support either view. But we shall soon see.
Was he not a McCain advisor?
This is, of course, the entire point of this phony baloney charge against Kavanaugh. He will be confirmed and the anti-Trump psychos are going to scream that everybody should follow them, Belushi-like, out of the frat house and down to the polls to vote for Democrats.
But, it's transparent and it's winning over not a single person. It will fire up the permanently on fire and nobody else.
“Steve Schmidt
Snicker. “
He’s actually a member of the Schittt family! They misspelled his last name. He has a brother named Dog, and a sister by the name of Bat. She’s the crazy one in the “family!”
That is the correct solution. You don't piss off your base. This will increase Rep turnout and probably decrease Dem turnout because the Dems failed to stop Kavanaugh's confirmation. And in the long term, Kavanaugh will be on the court to stop SCOTUS from legislating from the bench. For the Reps, there is far more of an upside to confirming Kavanaugh.
It’s Steve Schmidt the Blue Rhino. Ignore and discard anything he has to say as cow dung.
Steve Schmidt political loooser alert.
He used to post here on FreeRepublic after the McCain debacle
He tried to convince everyone that he and McCain ran a great race and that Palin was the reason they lost.
The only agreement he got was from posters that had ID dates that were a few days old.
He didnt stay too long.....
Then this must be Deep Schmidt. As opposed to Bull Schmidt of the NY Times.
