With the effort to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border seemingly stalled in Washington, the National Sheriffs' Association is looking to help break the logjam by raising funds for the project.
The group has launched a crowdfunding website that it announced during a White House meeting attended by President Trump and 43 sheriffs from 35 states, the Charlotte Observer reported.
We wanted to clear up some confusion - we received a couple emails regarding a possible GoFundMe account for the border wall associated with the National Sheriffs' Association.
The ONLY NSA-affiliated fund for border security is at https://t.co/8Fx1ThpNT4. pic.twitter.com/z28XwsTFQK National Sheriffs' Association (@NationalSheriff) September 10, 2018
In a Wednesday news release, Sheriff Sam Page of North Carolina chastised Congress for its (refusal) to act on the security aspects of immigration reform, as thus, have done nothing to stop the flow of drugs such as Heroin, into our neighborhoods.

The should put a check mark on the 1040 form for border wall funding like they do for president.
Liberals would go insane if that came to be.
Liberals are already insane. You must mean they would go bat-crazy... oh wait...
Why set a goal that low?
They’ll have millions in there before they know it.
63 million Trump voters X $500 would = $31.5 Billion - that would build a wall.
I’d make a pledge...
“bat-crazy”
“Poo slinging mad” is next on the de-evolution of libtards.
I tweeted the National Sherrif’s Association with the math. If Trump was to get the word out, it could happen. I just don’t know the legalities of it.
As others have said, it would blow the Left’s collective minds. They kind of invented crowdfunding for happy, feel good causes.
Hey, I’d love to see them have to deal with it.
BTW: We’d get big philanthropists to pay also. Not everyone would be limiting to $500.00.
Some of the Sheriffs have been on this for a few years. It is
a pity that the media, gov’t can’t pick up and help.

Sheriff Sam Page of Rockingham County, North Carolina, in a statement provided to Breitbart News, warned that illegal immigration by executive amnesty will pose a major threat to Americans
Human trafficking, drug trafficking and criminal activity are coming through our borders, but not staying near our borders its getting into every part of the United States . This is a public safety issue a terrorist or any other kind of criminal may cross our borders. We just dont know who is coming across. If the President issue his executive amnesty, youll see a dramatic surge of people coming in from all countries, including Central America and again we wont know whos coming in: gangs, drugs, cartels, public health threats, human trafficking .
Sheriff Eddie Guerra of Hidalgo County, Texas also said that Americans should prepare for the worst. We are going to see what Im seeing here on the border in larger and large numbers, which is a huge increase in illegal immigration coming across our border. An amnesty order is going to create more people an incentive to come into the US. The drug cartel will exploit any opportunity to come into the United States, and this will create the cover for them to continue exploiting our porous border .
And, finally, Pinal County, Arizona Sheriff Paul Babeu said in a statement to Breitbart News:
The law applies to you and [me] as citizens, and yet it appears there is no law when it comes to illegals
. The message the Presidents action will send is this: if you can get to the border, youre home free. It completely undermines the rule of law and makes the job of every law enforcement officers which is already difficult impossible
. Again: the border is not secure now to give a presidential amnesty would be to make matters dramatically worse for our officers who are trying to do the job the President wont.
The President complained about the spending bill this morning on twitter. “where’s the money for the wall?”
I replied VETO IT
Not sure if anyone reads his replies as most are hate filled leftists
If money were the issue that was holding up the wall we would have had the wall 20 or 30 years ago.
I think these are all diversionary tactics to distract patriotic Americans away from the real issue of why we don’t have The Wall.
Can this legally be done? Can they then donate the money to POTUS to build the wall or will a court argue that obtaining funds is the job of Congress not the POTUS?
63 million Trump voters X $500 would = $31.5 Billion - that would build a wall.
You know.. that is a damn good idea.
I would do that.
Yeah, the more I thought about it and studied the wording on the NAS site, I don’t know what this really is. Federal infrastructure has to be paid with appropriated funding from congress I believe.
If a gofundme type thing could fund federal infrastructure, the left would have built all kinds of crazy stuff by now.
“100% of your tax-deductible donation will go to secure Americas southern border! Together we can save taxpayer money, make our communities safer and build American Pride!”
Your donation helps us provide the resources necessary to help local law enforcement along the border take their communities safety into their own hands.”
Naming their site sheriffswall is a bit deceiving but on the other hand, the rudest telemarketers asking for donations tend to be police. Downright threatening sounding. I forget if it’s police benevolence assoc or what.
Now what about, and I have asked this before, Trump just using money from Homeland Security to do it. That way he doesn’t need Congress and it just comes from HS budget - after all it is his job to secure the border.
>> As of now, the total is $27,600 of $100,000 goal. 100k ain’t much. If every Trump voter gave a few hundred, it would amount to billions. Not sure if there’s some kind of limitations or how safe the money is compared to fedgov etc. Here’s the Sheriff’s site https://www.sheriffswall.org/<<
I’m no math wizard, but if every Trump supporter contributed just $20 we’re talking somewhere around 70 million people times 20 which looks to me like 1,400 million bucks. That should be enough to build a good stretch of the wall.
