Americans keep dividing into two hostile camps.
It seems the country is back to 1860 on the eve of the Civil War, rather than in 2018, during the greatest age of affluence, leisure and freedom in the history of civilization.
The ancient historian Thucydides called the civil discord that tore apart the fifth-century B.C. Greek city-states “stasis.” He saw stasis as a bitter civil war between the revolutionary masses and the traditionalist middle and upper classes.
Something like that ancient divide is now infecting every aspect of American life.
Americans increasingly are either proud of past U.S. traditions, ongoing reform and current American exceptionalism, or they insist that the country was hopelessly flawed at its birth and must be radically reinvented to rectify its original sins.
No sphere of life is immune from the subsequent politicization: Not movies, television, professional sports, late-night comedy or colleges. Even hurricanes are typically leveraged to advance political agendas.

Because the people that keep bragging about having all the guns, are waiting for someone else to be the guy that shoots. When that guy actually fires that gun, instead of bragging about how much ammo he has, gets arrested and put in prison, then they will magically disappear.
People here are no more inclined to sacrifice their nice life for a shooting war, than anyone else. Civil war is just big talk. You cant even get people here to actively protest RINO senators.
It happened long before that. Spygate was well under way before the election.

Now, it’s easy to be a keyboard warrior - and I’m hardly hypocritical enough to claim I’m going to march on Washington when I can barely muster up enough incentive to drive down to the supermarket . . . but at the same time, intellectually, I feel like we’re all living on a powder keg. Granted, most of this is caused by the media, who’s been feeding this discord all along, but it’s impossible to deny there IS real discord in this country, and two distinct camps who literally HATE everything about people on the other side. And I’m part of that, too - I HATE these liberal rear-holes. I hate that they hate our country. I hate that they’re standing in our way. I hate that they’re perverted and stupid and want EVERYONE to be the useless vermin that they are. I see nothing good about any of them OR their party or their beliefs and I think they’re doing immeasurable damage to our country AND that it’s gotten far worse in the last two years than it’s ever been before. Are they simply going to stop “resisting”? No, they’re not. So where else can this lead? If they’re going this nuts about Kavanaugh, what insane level are they going to power up to when Ruth Ginsburg drops dead and Trump gets ANOTHER Supreme Court pick? What are they going to do if / when they lose the midterms? And THEN how much more insane are they going to get if / when Trump wins another term in two years? They’re already on the cusp of violence and I can’t see any of these things NOT pushing them over the line. Hell, we even had that fat piece of shit Algore claiming Trump’s Presidency should just be aborted because he sucks so much! WHAT?! We have leftists openly calling for rebellion - and not some dirty hippie-wannabe but members of the previous administration. This is vile. It’s got to stop somehow. Trump MAKING it stop by firing and arresting a bunch of these people would be a good start - they need to be shown they can’t get away with their tantrums or, like little children, they’re going to keep having them.

To tell you the truth I don’t think the real Civil War ever stopped. Just the shooting.

It’s been going on for a while. The Left has actually backed off a little since Trump took office. BLM has been MIA. That won’t last forever.
