That is the traditional penalty which dogs must pay after they've killed poultry or livestock. No "ands", "ifs", or "buts". That dog must be put down.
“That dog must be put down. “
Save the dog...shoot the owner.

Big, brave macho man. Shoot those damn dogs. Afterward, put it back in your pants.
Out here in BFE where I live, if a loose dog comes onto your property and attacks or runs your livestock, you have every right to shoot the dog and if you sue the dog’s owner it is a given that you will get money in damages-if you call the sheriff, the owner will get a fine of 500.00-that is the leash law fine for an unleashed/running loose dog-but animal control will not seize your dog or come to your place and shoot it-that kind of confiscation of property is not tolerated, whether the animal is a dog, horse or goat-the responsibility for any damages done by an animal is on the owner, not the animal-that is why you sue the owner for the cost of the livestock and whatever else you can get-loss of money makes people learn responsibility...
You are of course correct. As someone else mentioned just about any predator could do yhat and here they get the same sentence. Ive told people that occasionally Ive had some abandon Fluffy the cat out here and they do it too because they arent hungry, theyre bored. I dont feel the need to fund their recreation.
