President Donald Trump on Tuesday responded to the news that the Senate has scheduled a hearing on Monday to consider allegations that his Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh, sexually assaulted a woman when he was in high school.
Trump said that the FBI should not be involved further investigating the Kavanaugh allegations.
Kavanaugh's nomination has been in turmoil since the explosive allegations by Christine Blasey Ford, who said that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her at a party when they were both teenagers.
Ford's allegation became public on September 16, just days before the Senate Judiciary Committee was scheduled to vote on Kavanaugh's confirmation, which had seemed all but assured.
This is a developing story, please check back for updates.

It will be interesting if she drops dime on DiFi and the dirty affair.
>>No need for further FBI investigation since they already did so in July and dismissed this.<<
I haven’t read of this before. Do you have a source?
To whom did she make those accusations -- the media? Dianne Feinstein?
She didn't testify or file an affidavit that carries any legal weight. She has no legal exposure right now ... and I'm sure she's being advised by attorneys to stay the hell away from Washington because that's the only way to ensure she DOESN'T have any legal exposure.
The Beltway GOP wants this guy on the Supreme Court in a big way ... because they know that Plan B will likely be a flamethrowing "Deplorable" from the Midwest or Great Plains who didn't attend an Ivy League law school.
Graham and Trump will both be running for re-election in 2020. Graham already knows where the political winds will be blowing.
He was convinced to change his ways.
FBI should investigate Sen Feinstine for obstruction of justice for holding up evidence pertaining to a sexual abuse allegation.
Time to investigate the Blasey family. Track down their past neighbors and classmates. Her brothers private school has quite a reputation.
Kavanaugh strikes me as having been shy and awkward around girls, and always very respectful when he was a young boy. He is a clearly a very intelligent, well read person and you don’t grow up to be that sort of adult unless you spent a lot of time hitting the books as a young person and very little time going to wild parties and drinking heavily. I think this Dr. Ford is the victim of recovered memory therapy, and I think the best way forward for the GOP is run with this. I personally would like to see congressional hearings on this whole crazy discredited “therapy” and criminalize it.
LOL, like maybe someone from Midwest heartland of conservatism, Ferguson, Missouri!
Unless they’re not trustworthy, in which case you can’t assume it.
Unfortunately, in many states there is no statute of limitations if the “victim” is a minor. I don’t know what the laws are in Maryland, but since it is a very liberal state this may well be prosecutable, and there is a real chance the DA of whatever county this alleged act occurred, might decide to arrest Kavanaugh. This is very serious for him, he could easily end up in prison rather than sitting on the supreme court. Many people in this country have no idea how corrupt our legal justice system is; the corruption starts at the bottom. That is why I would love to see this morph into a hearing on false recovered memory syndrome. There are a lot of innocent men, and more than a few women, languishing for years in our prison systems because of these allegations made years and years after the supposed incident. The problem you see is this: How do you, years and years later, prove you did not do something. Potential witnesses are dead or not able to be located, paperwork proving where you actually where, have long since been thrown away, family members who should support the victim of the allegation, may well be caught up in the poisonous hysteria and unable to help, etc.
There are too many leftist operatives operating at the FBI at this time. They cannot be trusted to do any investigation that has political implications. The FBI is tailor made for big government Statists & fascists and it continues to attract corrupt individuals. It’s not just a few at he top, it’s rotten to the core from top to bottom.
Basically, the FBI is worse than useless. They are not making this country safe. They are not interested in defending the Constitution. The entire organization needs to be purged and re-booted.
I'm curious to know whether she has a squirrel or a chipmunk bouncing around inside her skull ...
I'm sure some of these outside groups do their own background checks using top corporate/government private security and investigation firms, but those are more for corroborating the FBI's report than anything else.
No state court system ever wants to be in a position where a 90 year-old woman can take legal action for alleged sexual abuse at the hands of a former neighbor who is now 96 years old.
Rush agreed with this on his radio program today. He also said that the Senate Republican caucus was in the process of meeting to decide what to do.
Trustworthiness is the first quality the FBI should have. If they don’t have it, they shouldn’t exist period.
You won’t get an argument from me on that one. But I’m not sure I’d look forward to living in a country where nominees aren’t vetted and/or are vetted by some keystone cops operation like the D.C. police.
