Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley on Tuesday raised the possibility that next weeks high-stakes open hearing to examine the sexual assault allegation against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh could be canceled if the accuser doesnt accept the committees invitation.
Grassley, R-Iowa, scheduled a hearing for Monday for Kavanaugh and accuser Christine Blasey Ford to answer questions from senators about the allegation. But Grassley said during a Tuesday radio interview that his office has reached out several times to Ford and her attorneys to discuss her allegation, but has heard nothing back.

She is now referring to Ford as "a sexual assault survivor," and the alleged incident that Ford can hardly recall is now "this traumatic and harrowing incident."

Holy S###, I knew this would happen.
Get back on track, for Heaven’s sake.
In her twisted mind, He TRIED TO FEEL HER UP.
GEEZ.
So, it's always been the case that she alleged sexual assault. It's true that this doesn't have to rise to the level of attempted rape (and she didn't use the word, although other pundits have).
What isn't being discussed is the suggestion of attempted third degree murder. When Ford says "I feared he may inadvertently kill me," she's suggesting that what transpired could have resulted in this. Of course it didn't, and it's perhaps a fine line as to whether aggressive clothed play on a bed is sexual assault.
The discussion must be phrased in a way that addresses her claims without inserting Kavanaugh as the de facto perpetrator. Kavanaugh says that it's mistaken identity, and that he wasn't there. Personally, I believe that. However, we all know that if this hearing occurs, it will be non-stop "when did you stop raping your wife" accusations hurled at Kavanaugh.
