Compare also to their mortality rate if they stayed home.

I haven’t run the numbers on Afghanistan recently, but I recall all it’s worst Iraq was like being 38 as far as the death rate.

Electing Giuliani saved more American lives in just his first term than were lost in Iraq and Afghanistan combined under Bush. Further, the campaigns both cost less and resulted in fewer American dead than the 9/11 attacks.

The flaw is that you can’t. They don’t just stay in Afghanistan. They build a terrorist hub. I remember when ISIS was some miscreants in a cave in Iraq. Obama pulled out based on similar arguments that we shouldn’t be there. ISIS didn’t stay in Iraq. They fanned out across the Middle East, and they left absolute terror in their wake - not just in the Middle East but in Europe and the U.S. They didn’t just do terrorist attacks - they led to a massive refugee crisis.

Perhaps in the ME and Afghanistan (etc ad nauseum) if we and our allies weren’t vilifying everyone who didn’t cede us their resources and transportation routes, they wouldn’t hate us so much. If your argument is fear of even worse invasion situations for us and Europe, we should not be destabilizing countries with leaders who don’t like us or Israel.

Well, it’s a little late for that argument in Afghanistan, but I generally agree.
