For the first time, the American Academy of Pediatrics published a policy statement that calls for gender-affirming health care for all transgender and gender-diverse (TGD) youth. The policy, which was posted online Monday and will be published in the next issue of the journal “Pediatrics,” is aimed at pediatricians who “are focused on promoting the health and positive development of youth that identify as TGD while eliminating discrimination and stigma.”
Noting that the field is “rapidly changing,” the AAP said in a statement that its new policy aims to address the disproportionate health risks faced by trans youth, like “high rates of depression, anxiety, eating disorders, substance use, self-harm and suicide.”
The main thrust of the proposal is what the AAP calls a “gender-affirmative care model,” or GACM, in which “providers work together to destigmatize gender variance, promote the child’s self-worth, facilitate access to care, educate families, and advocate for safer community spaces where children are free to develop and explore their gender.”

WHen I first read the phrase “gender-affirming” health care, I thought they had come to their senses and were realizing that the initial treatment has to at least TRY to help these troubled kids become comfortable with their biological bodies.
Because we are killing kids by just blindly assuming any feelings they have are concrete truth, when we know that a lot of kids will at some point have a crisis of identity, and that a vast majority of these cases the crisis passes.
Anytime “discrimination” and “stigma” is injected into a medical discussion, you can pretty much throw that organization’s credentials in the trash. They are no longer a medical association.

Still a lot, I'd say a huge majority, of rational pediatricians don't buy into this bilge, but the leftists have taken control of the mouthpiece of their professional organization, just as they have the Boy Scouts and many Christian denominations.

“Transgendered” pediatric patients shouldn’t exist as a category. Gender confused children, sure. They exist - see what unfolds as they get older. Questioning sexual identity, sure. They exist - see what unfolds.
But to allow CHILDREN to “lock in” to a lifetime of living as their non-biological gender - and to give them nothing but affirmation - seems like negligence/malpractice. What if they would otherwise change their mind in the absence of affirmation and pressure to now stay in their “trangendered” state? Life is a hell of a lot easier if you live it in the gender corresponding to your equipment. Go figure.
You don’t need a pediatrician. We’ve always taken our children to a general practitioner.
It’s up to the actual parents to veto these quacks and what they want to do to children. Sadly these kids no longer have a check from ‘the system’ should their own parents be nuts.

It’s not “pre-surgical transgender woman”, it’s “transvestite”.
It’s not “post-surgical transgender woman”, it’s “eunuch”.
It’s not “plastic surgery to create a faux vagina, breast implants, and hormone therapy”, it’s “vacation home in Aruba”.
I had this conversation with our priest who is trying to start a “transgender group” at out church.
