Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), the chairman of the Judiciary Committee, is working to set up separate phone calls with Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and his accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, before a committee vote scheduled for Thursday.
"Given the late addendum to the background file and revelations of Dr. Fords identity, Chairman Grassley is actively working to set up such follow-up calls with Judge Kavanaugh and Dr. Ford ahead of Thursdays scheduled vote," a spokesman for Grassley said on Sunday.
The aide added that "the Chairman and Ranking Member routinely hold bipartisan staff calls with nominees when updates are made to nominees background files."
The announcement comes after Ford spoke publicly about her accusation that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her in the early 1980s, while they were both in high school, in an interview with The Washington Post published on Sunday.
Ford, in the interview, alleged that Kavanaugh pinned her to a bed at a party and forced himself on her. Ford told the Post that Kavanaugh "groped her over her clothes, grinding his body against hers and clumsily attempting to pull off her one-piece bathing suit and the clothing she wore over it."

ANSWER: Flake & Corker who want to cause problems on their way OUT the door.
Wrong.
Kavanaugh is going to be the next Jurist.
FACT.
Flake and Corker are Dems. Nothing new here.
Its a disgusting dirty low blow.
I heard on the radio that the lawyer for the accuser worked for Bill Clinton against Paula Jones.
She trashed Jones big time back then.
Dirty Washington politics.
Physicians for Human Rights sounds an awful lot like the communist front "physicians" group that the accuser against Hatfill in Mueller's Amerithrax investigation was associated with, the woman named Rosenberg who was a doc at some obscure Northeast hospital who fed the Democrats the "dossier" accusing Hatfill, a Rhodesian, of being a racis who used bioweapons in Africa or some such bullcrap.
The other person in the room denies the assault took place.
One of Kavanaugh’s previous background investigations would have turned up any police report. There apparently wasn’t one.
Good question, does the accused act equal sexual abuse? If she felt so violated, she should have made the charge immediately. not 35 years later when the supposed perp has been nominated to be a Supreme Court Justice.
Flake is on the Judiciary Committee. He would be the deciding vote 11-10.
Dr. Barbara Hatch Rosenberg...
What was Obama doing in H.S.? Giving BJ’s to old white men so he could buy MJ to choom on. (as stated by some of his H.S. classmates)
Men dont know how to handle this woman..they’ll cave once she talks!
Let a conservative woman who has had enough of their tricks.
Let her get a hold of her.. she never complained until now..at the critical time.. and I’m fed up with wishy washy.
A 35 year old repressed memory?
FRom a Democrat woman?
And we are to believe that nonsense?
Is this accuser’s “Physicians for Human Rights” just another version of Rosenberg and Nass’s [who is connected to the Cuba regime] group “Physicians for Social Responsibility?”
Here is the problem. Both Corkscrew and Snowflake are out of there anyways. So WTF do they care?
I would like to say what should happen to the both of them but...
