WASHINGTON As Democrats enter the fall midterm campaign with palpable confidence about reclaiming the House and perhaps even the Senate, tensions are rising between the White House and congressional Republicans over who is to blame for political difficulties facing the party, with President Trumps advisers pointing to the high number of G.O.P. retirements and lawmakers placing the blame squarely on the presidents divisive style.
Yet Republican leaders do agree on one surprising element in the battle for Congress: They cannot rely on the booming economy to win over undecided voters. To the dismay of party leaders, the healthy economy and Mr. Trump have become countervailing forces. The decline in unemployment and soaring gross domestic product, along with the tax overhaul Republicans argue is fueling the growth, have been obscured by the presidents inflammatory moves on immigration, Vladimir V. Putin and other fronts, party leaders say.
These self-inflicted wounds since early summer have helped push Mr. Trumps approval ratings below 40 percent and the fortunes of his party down with them.

The GOPe have the vapors! This may ruin Bill Kristol’s day.
No point in reading past this lie.
The mid terms will not be decided by the balless eunuchs in the republican party (triple redundancy). Look to construction workers, union employees, factory workers all better known as the blue collar silent majority, conservative seniors, small business owners and patriots of all races and creeds. Additionally, the Christian value voters will make a huge impact by thanking Trump for 2 sensational Supreme Court Justices.

Perfect! Love it.
The only Republicans who worry are the RINOs who are not Republicans.

The wouldn’t be worried if they stood for something. And they would be so stupid if they did. ;)
It is a lie. The daily tracking poll by Rasmussen is still deadly accurate and they have it 47-51 as of yesterday. -4% is close to the margin of error and of course easily surmounted with a nice lively turnout.

The economy is clicking along. New construction everywhere.

Personally, I don’t see the dems as having confidence,
what I see is palpable FEAR of losing MORE seats!
They are terrified of Trump getting to choose more than
one Supreme Court judge in the coming years.
Vote Republican, Vote Conservative...VOTE TRUMP!

How deadly accurate was this poll in 2016?
Trump is defending himself against media smears. If tweeting is the only way to get the truth out, so be it.
On its final poll released Nov. 7, the day before Election Day, Rasmussen had Hillary Clinton up 2 points on Donald Trump. Clinton won the popular vote by 1 percentage point, even though Donald Trump beat her on electoral votes.
No other pollster tracked by RealClearPolitics came as close to the final results.
“The media created a false narrative about the 2016 presidential campaign, and most polling reinforced it,” Rasmussen wrote on its website Thursday. “Our polling showed that issues, not the media-fed controversies, would ultimately decide the election.”
Only one polling entity tracked by RealClearPolitics had Trump leading going into Election Day: A collaboration poll between Investor’s Business Daily and TechnoMetrica Market Intelligence that had Trump leading by two points.
