There are times and places where you can't put a name to the people who died. Hitler's Germany, Stalin's Russia, Mao's China, Cambodia. Ironically they all appear to be socialist states, excluding Hitler's Germany Communist states.
In this case though, you're correct. I don't believe that death certificates don't exist for these people, or that said certificates don't state a cause of death. My guess a zealous reporter could debunk these "figures" as John Lott does frequently with false gun stats. But it would take a great deal of time, to do it properly would require examining all deaths in Puerto Rico. I'd be surprised if the beaches were crowed with drowned corpses and the streets with victims of starvation and the media failed to report it at the time, but that's how you find out. I was there in early December 17 which fits this time frame and though the island was a mess, a massive unreported death toll wasn't amongst the things I heard about.
I love and support both Ron DeSantis & Rick Scott, but, I also know tons of my Puerto Rican friends & buddies for many many years. I have spent significant time on the Island of Puerto Rico. The reason millions of Puerto Rico American citizens abandoned their home base, Puerto Rico was to pursue a better life and opportunities In “The USA 48”, New York, New Jersey, Florida, etc.
Why? Because the Democrat Party leadership and rank & file in PR are nothing but thugs, criminals & thieves, that have robbed the Island of all they could be for Puerto Rican citizens.
So...when Trumpie says nay to 3000 “hurricane” deaths, I believe him 100%. Just follow the death reporting as it happens today, in North and South Carolina....they are recorded and reported as they happen...not one year later. DeSantis & Scott have a lot to apologize for to our great POTUS, DJT!!! Case closed!!!
I sincerely, with all my heart & soul, want the Republicans to win the Mid-Term Elections and hold the majorities in the House and Senate, but I was absolutely stunned that DeSantis & Scott turned into political whores at the drop of a dime, especially DeSantis, who owes his being a candidate for Governor 100% to POTUS, DJT....Sad day for political loyalty in the Florida Republican Party!!!

On the subject of the study commissioned by the Government of Puerto Rico for George Washington University, about the 3,000 deaths after Hurricane Maria, I’d like to know who in the PR government authorized this study. Was it a GWU alum who works for the PR govt. now and wanted to give his/her pals at GWU the contract?
Also, are there Death Certificates to match the victims’ names? The 2,975 death toll is a generated number, so I’m wondering what kind of back-up documentation there is to support this death toll (there is none!)
I am seething about this — my parents live there and they lost power for about 9 months and they did not blame Trump at all... he did what had to be done to set the supplies in place... they blame the corrupt, f*cked up and inefficient PR govt!!! This is the reason I left the island 34 years ago.
You know, okay, so 3,000 died. Even if that number died, whose damned fault was it?? The stinking hurricane!!! That is who. Not me, not you, and certainly not Donald Trump. If people died on the island because no one assisted them, that is the agencies who were suppose to help, that are on the island, until federal help could arrive. If the federal help was sent early, to be there AFTER the hurricane, then that help would have been destroyed also!! So, the liberals, MSM, dimocrats, socialists, communists, idiots, and all the other fools can stick it. NO ONE on the planet killed one person in that hurricane. It was the storm that killed people, whether it was 5, 10, 50, 100, 3000 or 3 million, the hurricane did the damages. Not President Trump!!!
I basically agree with you. I don’t think the issue made much difference in how people will vote, but it’s not something that takes a lot of time or effort to defend either. I agree that Trump isn’t the problem in the midterms. He’s planning several rallies to do his part to keep republicans in power, but he can’t save the party by himself; especially when we have so many establishment candidates running that oppose him on the biggest issues that got him elected; like immigration and trade. These guys need to embrace Trump’s policy if they want people to vote for them. Those who refuse to do that and lose their seats should never be considered for office again.
I cannot wait for the day when an 18 wheeler, flying through the air in those 120 MPH hurricane force winds BLOWS Jim Cantore’s ass into orbit. What are he and those other weather channel people trying to prove standing out in the rain and winds of a hurricane?? What???
