I love it when nobody bothers to read the story.

Quite a number of years ago, while waiting to catch a plane from Miami to the Bahamas, I attempted to order a tuna salad sandwich at a counter in the Miami airport.

I was in an American airport, in an American city, attempting to order off a menu that was printed in English, but the waitress spoke no English, only Spanish!

I finally gave up speaking and pointed to the item on the menu and she finally nodded and grunted something or other to me, heading off to the kitchen, where I’m thinking she either gave the cook my order to fill or made the sandwich herself.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to have it on rye toast but I did finally get my food before running toward the gate, so as not to miss my connecting flight!

So much for English, at least in the State of Florida!

The customer should not have been surprised. Even the dog knows how to present his order at Taco Bell.

And where once Miami was home to expatriate Cubans, now spanish from every sh*thole south of Key West flock there. If you meet a spanish person in Miami, they are just as likely to be from Venezuela, Columbia, or Mexico as from Cuba. Even the Cubans are slowly getting displaced by the parasites, con artists, druggies, and grifters from South America.

I don’t see the big deal, she complained and the employee was fired. What are they supposed to do, stick the employee’s hand in the fryer first?

When my mom became a citizen ( that’s the catch), she was required to know how to read, write, and say basic English. She already did. But, it was required once upon a time. Of course they probably are not citizens and not sure if that requirement remains.

Sheesh. You’d think they’d be glad to divest themselves of the sexist language of their conquerors.

Legitimate issues aside, since when did Alexandria become a girl's name? The name for a woman has always been Alexandra, not Alexandria which has always been the name of cities.

Well, if that's the new thing, maybe I'll change my name to San Jose.

My personal experience is that the undocumented don’t speak English.

Maybe there needs to be an ICE raid on that Taco bell - Just sayin’.

Maybe the other ungrateful employees who REFUSED to step up and help the American placing the order will enjoy working the streets in their homeland since they obviously have such disdain for our country and our language.

Per the LAUSD, it’s 92 languages other than English spoken in LAUSD schools.

A few years back I went into a Taco Bell and all the employees were Vietnamese and spoke perfect English.

Thought it odd though, Viets cooking Mex. Then there’s the Mex cooks at the Greek place and the Greek’s running Italian restaurants and the Peruvians with the Pizza place and the American guys running the Sushi shop. Cultural appropriation run a-muck!
