There was another tragedy in California last night. A spree shooter shot and killed five people, including his wife, and then committed suicide. Authorities say this was not a random shooting, that all of the victims are connected with this senseless act of violence, and that the spree arose from a domestic dispute (via NBC News):
Six people, including the gunman, were dead following a shooting spree in Bakersfield on Wednesday that authorities believe was an act of domestic violence, Kern County sheriff's officials said.
It was not clear why the man went on the rampage, but there may be a connection between the shooter and the victims all described as adults, Sheriff Donny Youngblood told reporters.
The gunman shot himself as at least one law enforcer approached him, Youngblood said.

Sheriff's officials said there were multiple crime scenes, including at the trucking business and near a gun seller called Bear Mountain Sports. The area of the shooting spree was in unincorporated Bakersfield, which is patrolled by the sheriff's department.
Youngblood said detectives believe the gun store is not connected to the spree. A victim happened to be in the area and was chased around the building before being shot, he said.
Youngblood said at least a single handgun was used in the attacks, and he did not know if other weapons were deployed.
Police said the final report in this case could take a long time, as there are 30 witnesses to this heinous crimeall of which need to be interviewed. In the meantime, brace for more unnecessary and over-the-top anti-gun rhetoric from the usual suspects.

No names of the perp or victims, eh?
At least this one was sparked by a domestic dispute, just like the good ol’ days.
I was somewhat acquainted with a guy a couple of decades ago who’s wife started up an affair and kicked him out of the house. The new boyfriend was living with her and his three daughters. He was quite distraught regarding what this guy was doing with his daughters.
His solution: I broke into his own house, killed his wife and three daughters and then himself.
As Bill Burr says, this sort of action doesn’t just fall from the sky. Something causes it.
His wife was probably boinking a co worker?
30 witnesses to this heinous crimeall of which need to be ...
Should be "all of whom need to be .."
Impossible.
They have common sense gun control in Kuli4knee-uh.
I will not believe this obvious fake news.
Names? Six anonymous individuals with no distinguishing characteristics except one was female and the rest were male. I almost wonder what is the use of knowing any of it without the details that are omitted. The killer is also dead so there is no threat any more.
Sounds like a slow night in Chicago...
Apparently there was strong motive.
That being the case, the killings were not senseless
Not sure I’d agree that this was a ‘spree’ shooting, which implies random uncontrolled behavior.
Spree shooting sounds more scary than ‘targeted shooting’ though, which is probably why they went with it.
Expect a massive school shooting 1-2 weeks before the polls close.
If I were a parent of school age children, Id watch for an anti-terrorist drill scheduled for my area and find a damned good reason to keep my kids home that day.
I don’t see how killing the daughters made any sense.
Projecting. :)
A similar thing happened to me a few years later (I also have three daughters) except she didn’t have a boyfriend and I didn’t kill anybody. :-D
"Spree killers (sometimes referred to as rampage killers) murder two or more victims, but at more than one location. Although their murders occur in separate locations, their spree is considered a single event because there is no "cooling-off period" between the murders."
Lots more at the link...
So, in the event of a real incident, your kids would not know the drill, how to respond, and could disrupt and endanger the whole effort
Life is good now.
I didn’t know it could be this good.
“No names of the perp or victims, eh?”
That’s because the names will most likely be Hispanic.
