Reports that a Blackhawk helicopter and federal agents swooped in and inexplicably evacuated a remote part of New Mexico, including a prominent solar observatory, has some corners of the internet predictably atwitter about a possible alien coverup.

[ Here’s an article that indicates the closure of the observatory and post office may be due to a spill of mercury (Hg) at the observatory.
I had never heard of a large mercury spill being the cause of the shutdown of a major government facility ... until last month.
Mail in North Texas was not delivered for several days because of a spill of mercury. It was reported to have been ten gallons, which is an enormous quantity to be handled in a post office sorting facility.

In addition to my earlier comment listed below, where a pool of mercury located at the bottom of this solar research facility was used as an excuse to shut it down because all of a sudden it had become hazardous. From what I understand these solar research facilities go way deep down underground where a pool of mercury probably provides an absolute level smooth surface. In any case this mercury is not about to go anywhere. And should there be any potential problem either an engineering team or the EPA would be much more suitable to fix a potential problem than any law enforcement agency.
And as far as any spying activity may be concerned on nearby located governmental grounds, I would think that there would be more suitable places much closer by. I still think that this research observatory probably has seen something what the general public may be still unprepared to know or see and has taken pictures what the government tries to keep under wrap. Quite possible while looking in the general direction of the sun, this observatory may have gotten a glimpse of a planet like object further out, but not easily seen as it only has an infra re signature. Probably the same object the Vatican observatory on Mount Graham has been looking for all along. Needless to say at the moment it is just speculation and may sound crazy to anyone who never delved into this subject, but way too much info the general public is not aware of at this time is pointing in this direction, historically, anecdotal as well as biblical. Time will tell.

One excuse is about as good as another, but this explanation about the close proximity to a governmental testing facility makes sense. The interesting part in another article was the sudden attention to antennas and transmission towers as well as the post office, all items or places to be used for communication, shut it down so no info can get out. An excerpt of this article attached.

Can’t be local mercury spill if multiple reports that other Solar Observatory sites have gone dark recently:

Now going on 4 days from the time of the FBI takeover of the facility, there has yet to be any explanation proffered by authorities whatsoever, leading many around the nation to grow concerned.
