Democrats hold a slim lead over Republicans on a poll of U.S. adults' preferences for which party they want controlling the House after November's midterm elections.
In an Economist/YouGov poll released Wednesday, 34 percent of U.S. adults said they wanted to see Democrats retake control of the House, while another 32 percent said they wanted Republicans to maintain control of the chamber.
Another 13 percent say they want control in the lower chamber to be split between the two parties, while more than 20 percent of respondents didn't have a preference between the two parties.
Democrats hold an 8-point advantage among women in the poll, while Republicans hold a 4-point lead over Democrats among men. Independent voters surveyed in the poll broke for Republicans, giving the party a 5-point lead over Democrats among unaffiliated voters.
Democrats' lead in the poll has slipped from the same poll taken towards the end of August, which showed Democrats with a 6-point lead at the time.
The poll's release Wednesday followed the release of another poll, from NPR/Marist, that found the Democrats with a double-digit lead over Republicans among registered voters...

it will all come down to GOTV..
That means they are behind.
If this is correct and holds until the election, the Dims will not gain control of the House.
FWIW Dick Morris says Dems have to be at +5 in order to have a even a chance to take the House, due to polling bias (oversampling) and midterm election turnout issues.
They must notve gotten the memo from last week when a fake news poll came out claiming the Democrats had opened up s big lead and that President Trumps approval rating was way down and blah blah blah...
These polls really will not be able to accurately reflect the anger of the public for the idiotic behavior of the left over the last couple years.
I suspect this one will be a mid term for the history books.
The looney left will be out in droves, but they are a fairly small part of the voting public.
The silent majority is soo damn sick of the looney left, I think this is going to be a landslide for the right.

Mueller to announce “a bombshell” in...3..2..1..
Well, so much for the Blue Wave (TM).
But it is worth noting that the last major poll was D +14.
Good poll for Republicans. But reading that most people fall in the wanting Democrats, or wanting an even split, or not caring either way categories, is very sad. Means most people have no idea how bad the Democrats are and the disasters they cause.
A lot conservatives used to be "R's" but left the party years ago because if became the party of RINO's!
I changed from R to I 10 years ago.
“But it is worth noting that the last major poll was D +14. “
If you poll blue cities, these are the results. The generic ballot is a worthless poll.
Polls can not count and do not reflect the growing dissertion of some blacks from the Democrat ranks. The disgust for the plantation life by an increasing number of black voters will have a greater effect than the indicated results of generic ballot.
Maxine’s laoud but futile cries for impeachment is her acknowledgement of that fact. She Knows. She fears.
Why do people follow these stupid generic polls?
That indy number tells me that to the extend Dems actually lead on this (I’m dubious), it would be due to the fact that their base is hyper-whipped up to 11 to crawl over broken glass to vote against Trump.
We had better be prepared to do likewise.
FWIW is right. With all due respect my friend you should get a better source....that guy scares me. lol
