Two people were arrested after authorities said they tried to poison their co-worker at a small BMW dealership in Toronto. Szilard Czippan was charged with attempted murder and administering a noxious substance while Rahim Jaffer is only facing the latter charge.
The two men were captured on surveillance cameras taking the water bottle of a manager at the dealership and filling it with engine coolant. When the manager took a sip, he immediately realized that his water had been replaced and he drove to a pharmacy to get a charcoal pill. He then went to the hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
A spokesperson for BMW Toronto told CTV News that employees were shocked that something like this could happen.
It is a small dealership, a family environment where there is a certain level of intimacy. A trust was broken. [Employees] are surprised and shocked."
Police have not said why the two men plotted to poison their manager and are continuing to investigate.
Oops, these were canucks. Disregard my America comment.
Totally kills your liver.
I’m told it tastes sweet, that’s why animals will lap it up off driveways, etc.
Well, they are IN Canada, BUT I DOUBT THEY ARE canucks................
In most locales it is required that a bittering agent be put into antifreeze to make it unpalatable. Before bittering agent is added, antifreeze has a sweet flavor that appeals to children and pets.

Being of Hungarian descent, I hate to have to say it. But “Szilard’ is a rather common Hungarian name.
OMG, glad you survived that! Sounds like a bad Hollywood script that turned out to be true.
Sounds more like a gag gone wrong than attempted murder. It’s not like anyone would confuse a mouthful of antifreeze for a mouthful of water. Maybe they’re weren’t aware of just how dangerous it could be? They may have been looking for a big “spit-take” reaction. I could certainly find more subtle ways to try to poison someone.
Szilard Czippan is eastern European, probably Hungarian.
“Szilard Czippan” That’s a Hungarian type name.
Szilard Czippan sounds like a central European name, likely Hungarian. I have a good friend I worked with for many years who is named Szilard. Could be a gypsy, I suppose, but he _was_ working...
Ethylene glycol anti-freeze has for a few years had some nasty-tasting additive to discourage accidental consumption.
One of these fellows has a Hungarian name. The other, an Indian Muslim name.
No one should ever cause a person to place a substance inside his body against his will. Unless it’s a vaccine, of course.
Antifreeze causes kidney failure if I’m not mistaken. A bad way to die!
Yep!..........................
It is and if taken early enough can absorb some of the toxins. I take them everyday because they are good for your digestive system.
They should be hung by the neck until dead!
I'd look at a picture of Hillary Clinton and vomit.
Celebrate diversity...
