President Donald Trump has made his name from sales of everything from suits to steak, but this is his first time selling sneakers even though that probably wasnt his intention.
Nike sales jumped by 31 percent after debuting quarterback-turned-activist Colin Kaepernick as a new company spokesman and market observers say the presidents public displays of anger may have backfired by drawing more attention to Nike.
Controversial endorsements tend to generate a lot of hype, said Marshal Cohen, chief industry analyst for retail at The NPD Group, a market research firm. These kinds of statements and brand partnerships make for a big impact on brand selling.

The only way , IMHO, to hurt Nike is not only to boycott their product, but also to boycott any network that carries NIKE advertisements and any team that wears the NIKE "swoosh" and in turn advertises for them. Before you say "Hell Yes!" check out your favorite college team. The other effective tactic will be to boycott stores that sell NIKE products.
What won't work is to post showboating videos of yourself burning NIKE products or posting a self centered claim that pf "no more NIKE foe me!" (Hint- it ain't about just you- it's about hurting NIKE who pays millions of dollars to an anti American who will take those millions and parlay them into more anti American propaganda. This will require more than just you to boycott NIKE)
Easy for the left to make a purchase in support right now.
Let’s see it in 6 months.
The price is up, because determined individuals are trying to support Nike. It will be another question as to whether it can be maintained.
Nike targeted their audience well. Thugs who rob others to get enough money to buy expensive sneakers.
And Im supposed to believe this story because..........?
There are a lot of people who hate this country and believe highly-paid privileged blacks are “oppressed”.
Here is an interesting take on the Nike campaign. I suspect that, long term, they have damaged the brand.

Yea, a 1 week bump is not a trend.
And I am supposed believe fake news from left wing CNBC because why ?
Don’t get too excited. The data this is based on is from Edison Tends, not Nike.
Trust but verify.
And what was the revenue on those sales?
The devil is in the details.
Hopefully that, but then again maybe the "social justice" and "group think" crowd is bigger than what conservatives (deplorables) give it credit for being. Propaganda (fake news) orchestrated by our educators, media, and progressives is a powerful tool. Is Schumer the spawn of Goebbels?
“Trust but verify.”
Wait for the fourth quarter sales and earnings report. It will tell if consumers are boycotting. The third quarter report will likely be meaningless as the company’s reported sales reflect shipments, not retail sales. Investors will see the results of the advertising campaign that launched in the third quarter in the fourth quarter.
One key measure of the Kaepernick issue is attendance at NFL games. I haven’t watched any games but I did see a news report that many stadiums have substantial numbers of empty seats. I haven’t seen any reports about TV viewership this year.
Well you can check out their stock price independently - it's rebounded. I agree with the other posters- lets see in 6 months. Let's see how they do this Christmas season. I think this is fools gold for the left but so far, early in the game, the other wide is winning. They will continue to win unless we get our act together. And if we do, there is no way we can loose.
I am not sure why people here are surprised.
We are clearly not in their market. Their market consists of young people; many of them african american.
“We” are not the heartbeat of the American economy. These guys are not selling cars and boats, they are selling sneakers and tee-shirts.
I cannot boycott something I’ve never bought in the first place.
Better yet, let's see how they do over the Christmas season.
Because its probably true. Its not that hard to believe. But shoes arent to eggs in that you will need a dozen next week too. Just wait.
People stopped buying Nike products in golf and tennis about 2 years ago.
It would be interesting to see their stats compared to their peak sales periods.
