A Dallas police officer who fatally shot her neighbor in his apartment, claiming she mistook the unit for her own, told the authorities that the door was already ajar when she entered and that she shot him after he ignored verbal commands, according to court records released on Monday.
The officer, Amber R. Guyger, 30, who has been charged with manslaughter, could face additional charges in a case that has led to accusations that the officer received preferential treatment and debate about whether race may have played a role in the deadly encounter between a white police officer and a black man in his home.
On Monday, the Dallas County district attorney, Faith Johnson, insisted that the investigation into the death of the neighbor, Botham Shem Jean, 26, had not ended and that her office could seek charges including anything from murder to manslaughter.
Well present a thorough case to the grand jury so that a right decision can be made, Ms. Johnson said at a news conference.

She does - she has those glazed, shadowed eyes of someone who takes ice. They are violent and unpredictable, also.
I am in soooo much trouble...
Thanks a lot! Now I’ve got “Jungle Boogie” playing in my head!! :)
“Get down, get down!”
Oh noes...now I’m in trouble, too.
It seems the victim's family's attorney, Lee Merritt, has turned up evidence in that regard. Two neighbors heard shouts of "Let me in!" accompanied by door banging. This was followed by gunshots, followed by "Oh my God, why did you do that?" in a man's voice. The victim's last words?
Wow...
He allegedly ignored verbal commands and did what? Pulled a gun? A knife? Did he physically attack her? I would imagine the victim was completely blown away, going about his business in his own residence one second and then whammo!
If they multiply their wits, a quarter wit.
Glad to share...

Welcome to the Off Duty Police State.
I believe she’s making stuff up as she goes. She’s betting she will skate because she’s a cop. If she does, between her killing an innocent civilian and the Muslim cop killing an innocent civilian it’ll be open season on civilians.
The left is hyping this big time.
Putting out memes and articles showing her mother westing All Lives Matter shirt and someone making the white supremacist salute etc...
They are trying to milk this for all it’s worth, saying it was done purposely to kill a black person.
Because their total ages are under fifty
And the emotional ages are lcombined ess than forty
She supposedly put in twelve hours. Her apt is within walking distance of the main police station
“They are trying to milk this for all its worth, saying it was done purposely to kill a black person.”
It’s worth a murder conviction.
That is unless we want to live in a nation where we condone the police, even off duty police, walking into your home, shouting senseless commands and shooting you.
I think I read it was about twenty minutes
Hopefully, the Rangers will give their respective phones and computers a thorough examination.
Guyger drew her firearm, gave verbal commands that were ignored by Jean, the affidavit says. As a result, Guyger fired her handgun two times striking (Jean) one time in the torso.
Guyger then went into Jeans apartment and called 911. She turned on the lights and when dispatchers asked where she was, Guyger returned to the front door and discovered she was at the wrong apartment, the document says.
First off by the sworn affidavite it seems her reason for shooting was not a threat but failure to follow orders.
Next it seems she went into the apartment, called the police, then turned on the lights, went back to the front door and *finally* figured out she had the wrong place?!
This is her sworn statement and if you believe that well there is not much I can say...
Neighbors said they heard banging on the door, shouting of let me in, let me in. Then soon after gunshots. When they looked out to investigate they thought everything was inder control cause they saw an officer ( so she was still in uniform). Another neighbor recalled the same but added he heard the occupant say why did you do that? after he was shot.
