Former independent counsel Ken Starr writes in his new memoir that he considered -- but ultimately abandoned -- the idea of perjury charges against then-first lady Hillary Clinton after her preposterous deposition with investigators in 1995.
I was upset over Mrs. Clintons performance, and was even considering bringing the matter before the Washington grand jury for possible indictment on perjury, Starr writes in Contempt: A Memoir of the Clinton Investigation, which hits bookshelves Tuesday.
Fox News obtained an advance copy of the book. In it, Starr recounts a Jan. 22, 1995, deposition with both then-President Bill Clinton and the first lady about the suicide of White House adviser Vince Foster and other issues stemming from the Whitewater land deal investigation.
Recalling the presidents answers during that interview, Starr writes, Clinton bobbed and weaved, but was always pleasant as he avoided answering.
The first lady, though, was a different story.
In the space of three hours, she claimed, by our count, over a hundred times that she did not recall or did not remember, Starr writes. This suggested outright mendacity. To be sure, human memory is notoriously fallible, but her strained performance struck us as preposterous.

How many people here believe that Vince Foster committed suicide in the park?
FRiend...
I saw him on Tucker’s show too. WHile he did praise him, he also expressed his concerns.
As far as his praises, it came across as “lawyer-to-lawyer” respect, or “independent counsel” to “special prosecutor” respect, doing a job to ensure politicians et al are accountable.
He did express his concerns, including that Mueller’s team is staffed by partisans. I think he also pointed out that while Mueller rightfully indicted some Russians, they were no part of a collusion associated with the President.
But no reasonable prosecutor would.... oh never mind
I disagree with that. The Baylor situation was bad and he made it worse.
He actually made it better for calling for the pepper report.
The independent report discovered what was wrong and allowed it to be fixed.
If this was done on all campuses the public would discover how rampant it is
Women are safer at baylor Because of Starr.
It was political payback for exposing Clinton as a rapist b
No wonder Clinton/Soros have been so generously supporting the "resistance" to, and demonstrations at, Kavanaugh's hearings. May God protect him and his family.
He basically said he lied but he didn’t think he could prove it effectively.
His report did result in Clinton’s Impeachment which the GOP leadership BLEW
Read the book SELL OUT
That was after he had done nothing.
He also had administration moles in support groups for sexual assault victims.
Shoulda, coulda, woulda, so what?
No charges in the White House Travel Office case...
One of many. It’s SOP for the treasonous witch.
Indeed!
My daughter was at the school during this period of time.
She knew women making allegations
She knew Ken Starr.
Ken Starr did more than any President I know of — I am a professor and have worked with many different campuses— on any campus.
The Dallas Morning News and ESPN led an ideological take down of the person who took down their rapist in chief President. Ken Starr has consistently stood up for the rights to women at Baylor and in the White House and for that his reputation has been unfairly attacked.
Thanks. I was wondering about it when I saw the getty watermark after copying it from Google image search, but it showed up for me so I figured it was okay.
It was just a picture of Larry King and Snake Carville.
btw, the comment I added I thought was funny. It is too bad the moderators don’t have the option to remove images, and not the whole post.
Basically, I said that every time I see Ken Star I think of the Rush parody about “Ken Star is a space alien who wants to kill your children with tobacco smoke”
I thought he was used to avoid charging Clinton and Gore with treason for selling weapons tech to Communist China. jmho
when the file showed up on her coffee table she should have gone to prison. When she had 900 FBI files transferred to her office in the WH, she should have gone t prison. This criminal has gotten away with not longer than john Gotti did.
