Ten National Football League (NFL) players from six teams protested, in one way or another, during the playing of the National Anthem in the first week of NFL regular season games.
While ESPN reports that only two players knelt during the Anthem, three others raised a fist in protest, one sat on the bench and four more boycotted the Anthem in protest by hiding out in their stadiums tunnels as it played.
Philadelphia Eagles (1): Defensive End Michael Bennett sat on the bench during the playing of the National Anthem prior to Thursday Nights NFL season-opener against the Atlanta Falcons. Miami Dolphins (3): Receiver Kenny Stills and Receiver Albert Wilson knelt during the anthem and Robert Quinn raised his fist in protest. San Francisco 49ers (1): Receiver Marquise Goodwin raised a fist during the Anthem. Los Angeles Chargers (1): Tackle Russell Okung raised a fist in protest. Denver Broncos (2): Receiver Demaryius Thomas and Linebacker Brandon Marshall boycotted the Anthem by going into the stadiums tunnel during the National Anthem. Seattle Seahawks (2): Lineman Duane Brown and Lineman Quinton Jefferson boycotted the Anthem, returning to the field after it finished playing.

and...nobody was watching anyway
National Anthem Is not a time for protest. It is specifically a time of unity.
There are planes leaving everyday for Africa, a place where they can all feel equal where slavery still exists
Jerruh Jones is the worst. He SAYS he's patriotic....but where was he when my dad was getting shot at by Communists in Vietnam? Far better men than Jerruh are on the Wall.
Only 6 on field protesters.....
The movement had died
Did the players in question still get their game checks?
Eff the nfl forever!
Professional sports are not a time for protests. Sports are an ESCAPE from worldly concerns like politics. Bring politics into sports, and there is no reason to bother with sports.
I don’t care what means they choose to show their disrespect.
Current view of NFL season games = 0, intended goal for entire season = 0. Lots of free time for other more important stuff by ignoring grown men playing children’s games!

Works for me.
Die, NFL. Die.
Over-hyped, over-paid, and over and out. Please, over and out.
NFL ratings in the toilet. They’ve lost millennials anyway because they could care less about football. And they’re losing us because we are not happy with the disrespect.
Children raised in fatherless homes, especially black children, are far more likely than children raised in two-parent homes to engage in criminal behavior and thus, have contact with police. Thus when they father a child with a woman to whom they are not married - or at least living with - they are contributing to the problem against which these football players are taking a knee. If you look at many of these players' records on out-of-wedlock children, you find that they are contributing significantly to the problem against which they are protesting.
For example, Antonio Cromartie has 12 children by 9 different women. Apparently, the NFL had to shell out $500,000 before he could even play football for them.
Travis Henry has 11 children by 10 women,
Willis McGahee has 9 children by 8 women,
Derrick Thomas has 7 children by 5 different women,
Bennie Blades has 6 children by 6 women,
Ray Lewis has 6 children by 4 women and
Marshall Faulk has 6 children by 3 women.
They forgot to include Adrian Peterson. 11 kids from 7 different women?
Before these guys take a knee they should take a good look in the mirror. It appears that their problem is not the knee.
oh, its on, baby!
just remember, the nfl is not the sport of football.
the nfl is dead! long live the sport of football!!!
These people are not happy with our nation.
Nobody is preventing them from going abroad to find happiness.
They should be encouraged to find that place on planet earth that is better than here. Hey, if they find a place they like better, I’d be happy for them.
They’d be off our back and happy too.
What’s not to like about that?
Now, would it be worth something like $25 to $100 thousand dollars to spot them the true happiness they are convinced they could find elsewhere?
I’d be for it, if they were prevented from returning for ten years. We’d save $25 to $100 thousand dollars, them just being gone.
Greg Gutfeld said it: adding politics to an institution that never had it, kills the institution.
Adding politics never makes something enjoyed, better.
Who cares about the nationalfelonsleague.
