I was good political friends with Woodward's late father, Judge Alfred Woodward. The father was Chief Judge of the 18th Circuit Court in Illinois.....and served until he was in his 80's in Wheaton, Illinois which was the county seat of conservative Du Page County, Illinois....during the time I was a County Commissioner.

He was a soft-spoken man, well-educated, conservative GOP-er....and quietly carried out his duties during his long tenure in a dignified, unpretentious way.

His liberal, nasty, egotistical acorn son, Bob Woodward, fell far, far from the family tree.
