Week one of the regular NFL season kicked off this weekend with a wimper - the ratings were at a 10-year low. ... Americans are fed up with athletes kneeling during the National Anthem and it showed - plenty of empty seats plagued stadiums on Sunday.
[Snip]
On Sunday, Miami Dolphins wide receivers Kenny Stills and Albert Wilson kicked off their first game one of the NFL season by taking a knee during the National Anthem and Colin Kaepernick celebrated.
The constant protests on the field are destroying the NFL.
The President slammed the NFL on Sunday for their abysmal ratings.
Wow, NFL first game ratings are way down over an already really bad last year comparison. Viewership declined 13%, the lowest in over a decade. If the players stood proudly for our Flag and Anthem, and it is all shown on broadcast, maybe ratings could come back? Otherwise worse!

Meanwhile, the last time I checked, high school and college football attendance was still strong ... as was attendance at Trump MAGA rallies!
When you don’t know and lose touch with your fan base not the corporate skybox season ticket holders, this is what you get, a fading brand never to recover.
MAGA!
To hell with the entire pro sport.. None of my friends even care any more. Its over.
0ur new football team chant is: NFL GTH!
Overpaid thugs with puny brains.
I was bored today and they had the NE Houston game on, I was like this is pointless, then it was over and they went to CLE/PITT which was a nail biter..
You have my attention... suddenly they say due to NFL contractual agreements we may no longer show you this game, but highly paid doofuses will keep you appraised of the game.
The Yapping heads are telling me its sudden death overtime...
Then they tell me it’s a tie, a freakin draw!
Baahhh! I have had it with the NFL. It’s a joke.
I can barely wait to hear Rush weigh in on this BS

Actually, announced attendance dropped 3.2% in footballs top division last season, and schools ticket scans show even fewer fans in stands.

We were at a new “pub grub” restaurant that had a couple of NFL games on the big screens. I notice they try to avoid camera shots of the stands, when they did there were quite a few empty seats, and not just way up in the corners of the nosebleed sections. It reminded me of when I was a kid, before wrestling got big, matches were sparsely attended and typically held in small arenas such as the old Sunnyside Gardens in Queens, the Commack Arena on LI, the Teaneck Amrory, the Hesterly Armory in Tampa, etc, venues that had at most a 1500-2000 seat capacity. The cameras and audio equipment would be set up in such a way as to make those places appear noisier and more crowded than they actually were. I see the NFL trying to pull that same tactic in the near future.
I have a curved LG OLED. Love it. What do you have there? Can’t make out the brand.
It’s not mine. But looks nice - except for the channel, lol.
Not at OU..and OSU.
Everyone attending is in a full raincoat.
Yeah rain may have kept some away. Look at the score, too.
The NFL games I watched, the stadiums were packed and everyone I know was excited it was week 1. It was a great Sunday of games!
Rush opined a couple of years ago, when the concussion issue was front and center, that the Left was out to kill football. They were pushing the dangerous angle but what they really wanted was to punish Conservatives who made up a large percentage of the audience.
They’ve got their protests and they’re killing football.
Got a new NFL Sunday afternoon ticket..... A Firestick.
So many good shows to watch.
Amazon Prime.... Bosch.. Harry Bosch comes to life.
Waaaay better than pro football.
