Yes. Maybe that is why i like older shows. Most of them where genuinely nice people and it shown. No matter how good of an actor it shows. It's body language that can't be avoided or acted away.
Which suggests if someone that is good at casting they could make some wonderful shows today that would dominate the market.

On the then newly added commentary track for one of the Bob Newhart show DVDs, it was mentioned that Bill Daily was still doing standup. Funny man. I'll remember him as Howard Borden, rather than the guy from IDoJ. :^) Either way, it's easy to see him as a prototype for Michael Richards' Kramer character.
