BRASILIA (Reuters) - Brazil’s front-running far-right presidential candidate Jair Bolsonaro is in serious but stable condition in hospital following “successful” surgery after he was stabbed while campaigning on Thursday, his running mate said.

Flavio Bolsonaro, the candidate’s son, wrote on Twitter that his father had been wounded in the liver, lung and intestine. “He lost a lot of blood, arrived at the hospital ... almost dead. He appears to have stabilized now,” he said.

This is a guy that Wikipedia claims supports a military dictatorship and forced sterilization of poor people….maybe he figures he’s badass enough on his own.

I wouldn’t put too much stock in anything of a political nature on Wikipedia. They seem pretty much controlled by left-wing activists.

Much more info. here:

Article says Bolsonaro was wearing a bulletproof vest, but was stabbed just below it. Bad luck, or a professional type hit?

Good point. Or maybe the knife went in & twisted up? Bolsonaro was riding on someone’s shoulders, when attacked?

Thanks. Makes much more sense and bullet proof vest is a meaningless term many times.

6 Sept: Daily Caller: Watch: ‘Brazilian Trump’ Brutally Stabbed During Rally
by Jason Hopkins
Jair Bolsonaro, a longtime politician and leading candidate in Brazil’s presidential elections, was brutally stabbed during a campaign rally Thursday...
The stabbing was just below the bulletproof vest he was wearing...

Like U.S. President Donald Trump, Bolsonaro has been a major critic of the Paris accord and has vowed to leave the agreement if elected president.
https://dailycaller.com/2018/09/06/brazilian-presidential-candidate-stabbed/

google translation:
Who is Adélio Bispo Oliveira, the left supporter who stabbed Brazil’s presidential candidate Jair Bolsonaro
According to the magazine Veja, the attacker was affiliated with the leftist party PSOL (Partido Socialismo y Libertad, a rupture of the PT) between 2007 and 2014. The data comes from the register of members of the Superior Electoral Tribunal (TSE).
The PSOL was created by a group of former PT militants who broke with the party in 2004 due to disagreements with its founder, Lula da Silva.
In the Facebook profile of Adélio Bispo de Oliveira, there are photographs in which he is seen in a demonstration posing next to a sign that reads: “Politicians useless”. Images are also seen in a protest for the freedom of the detained PT leader, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva...

Apparently the Brazilian Secret Service is light years behind ours here in the US.

There are still some things here in this country that are the best of the best, and the Secret Service is one of ‘em.

Far right...in other words a normal Brazilian patriot.

Especially when you consider that Bolsonaro's opponents (even when their minions try to assassinate him) are never described as "far left." The fact that Bolsonaro has both Latin American Marxists and our political elites so up in arms means that if elected, he may actually do some good for that mess of a country.

“Far-right”? He sounds like a decent conservative to me. And it sounds like he has a real chance, hence why some pig tried to murder him. “Social Liberal Party”, his is called despite it’s shift in ideology to the right.

Commie Former President Lula was leading in the polls despite serving a 9 YEAR PRISON TERM. The courts kicked off the ballot under a law that bans corrupt scum from running, this despite the UN “Human Rights” council asking that he be allowed to run (and pardon himself after winning or ruling from his cell?) The UN is evil.

I was reading about Bolsonaro yesterday, after learning that he got stabbed. If his views are “far right,” then so are mine (not that I needed a reminder of how the MSM labels my pro-life, pro-traditional-values, pro-gun, pro-bational-defense, pro-free-enterprise, anti-big-government views). If I were Brazilian, Bolsonaro definitely would have my vote.

Bolsonaro currently is in first place in polls for the first round of voting (which has around a dozen candidates running), but is well short of 50% and trails in polling for the two-person run-off against everyone against whom he’s been polled. Even with Lula being kicked off the ballot (to be replaced by a substitute nominee of his Leftist party), Bolsonaro will have a hard row to hoe in the run-off. I hope that his stabbing causes Brazilians to wake up and see the Leftist threat for what it is, and that the Silent Majority in Brazil votes for Bolsonaro.
