Levi Strauss goes gun control: Have corporations gone mad?
Washington Times ^ | 9/6/18 | Cheryl Chumley

Posted on 09/06/2018 3:35:39 AM PDT by markomalley

Levi Strauss, the famous jeans maker and clothing manufacturer, has jumped into the gun control bed with none other than the king of anti-Second Amendment himself, Michael Bloomberg.

Do corporations these days have a death wish? Seriously, are they even in business to make money any more?

Or are they simply existing to serve as political arms of politicians’ political designs?

I guess it’s reasonable to assume that they now have responsibility for the safety and protection of all their customers and associates. That’s how any “reasonable man” would see it. Their lawyers and I would like to see that plan ASAP, in case it gets called into court later.

It’s time for me to buy jeans again. After seeing this nonsense, none of my money is going to Levi-Strauss. There are too many makers of blue jeans out there to support a company that wants to infringe on my rights.

Corporations went SJW liberal decades ago. These aren’t the founders or brains behind the outfits, just the current kings and their empires will crumble. “You didn’t build that”

Not mad, just a continuation of Antonio Gramsci’s long march through the institutions. A bunch of Marixists have infiltrated corporations who are betraying their fiduciary responsibilities to the share holders (the real owners) in order to advance their political agenda.

Levi _ Strauss is a international corporation importing of foreign made goods into the USA virtually duty free. Another reason for a uniform across the board import tariff.

I am betting that all these companies who are going gun control are shorting their own stock. Maybe that’s the way to improve our portfolios.

Go to Levi Strauss website where you can leave them Feedback & comment on their decision and let them know how they’ve lost your business - protest as strongly as you can and let them know no more Levi’s for you.

I just did.

An interesting question to ponder: why are so many left-wing causes being embraced by corporations?

Indeed. Kaepernick's "protest" is worth at least $3 million to one of America's largest brands. So is Kaepernick really a rebel, or is he actually on the side of the statists and crony-capitalists?

Levi’s used to be the thing. One or two models then bell-bottoms... zippers were not even an option as they buttoned-up... I think they went to zippers when they became mod, we called them dungarees, “dung” being the keyword... As they were what they were, work pants, farm equipment. I remember wearing Levi’s that were straight legged, and stiff as a board, lasted quite a while, and cost $20 per. Back in the 60’s $20 was a lot of money.

It took dedication to break them in because they were thick and almost unbendable. I would take mine out back and beat them against a tree I would rub them in the dirt I would go out and play football or something in them, wash them & not dry them in the dryer... beat them on the tree some more (the tree was my favorite method), it took real effort to get them cool looking not to mention plyable. Biker gangs were mysteriously thought to just put them on “off the shelf” and never washing them, AND wearing them constantly until they fell to pieces, which probably took years.

But those days of yore are no longer, And Levi’s is one of many brands in the marketplace. I prefer other brands these days such as Carhartt. I haven’t even looked at a Levi set of dungarees in probably 30 years.

Is it not clear yet which of these corporations are owned by globalists? They don’t care a thing about making money or if a corporation goes down—it’s about being prominent in the market, being recognized and then, after securing these, shoving their agendas down the consumer’s throat.

They really don’t give a crap if the corporation survives or not. It’s about promoting their end game control of everything in the world. And frankly, whatever the corporation provides to them fiscally is chump change in the overall scheme of things. They want their fiefdoms where they’re the gods.

What real company would purposely set out to destroy itself with this nonsense? They wouldn’t...and thus every corporation that has participated in this social stupidity and blatant agenda have exposed their globalist ownership, directions and intent.

We know who they truly are by their actions. Make a note of it.

Another Freeper had an interesting take on this yesterday. Basically, the issue is that these companies that mass-market to consumers have run out of gas. They can't compete for value anymore because they have squeezed every penny out of their expenses.

So now they're marketing to customers looking for IMAGE instead of VALUE ... and these days a lot of these people are virtue-signaling snowflakes who see consumer purchases as political statements.

Our cliche that "liberalism is a mental disorder" moves from cliche to fact with what these corporations are doing. I ran a large marketing department and you teach/train employees that you NEVER mix politics, religion or gender definitions into the marketing of the product you are selling. When you add these marketing poisons to the product mix, you AUTOMATICALLY kill off half your profit base.

Does it matter to people that Ben and Jerry are screaming liberals? Does it change the flavor of the ice cream? No. Do I purchase and ice cream cone from them? No. I will not financially support something that uses my money to attack me. Liberals won’t buy MORE ice cream, they will keep buying as they did, but conservatives will go to Dairy Queen instead. To do ANYTHING that has the potential of negatively affecting up to 50% of your profits IS AN INDICATION IF CORPORATE INSANITY.

Therefore...

Liberalism is FACTUALLY a mental disorder.

I’ve been wearing Stranglers all my life. Have some on today at work. I had one pair of Levi’s growing up. After considerable teasing from my friend’s in my Texas town, I put them back in the drawer. I have worn some Dockers in the past.
