Ayanna Pressley defeated 20-year incumbent U.S. Rep. Michael E. Capuano last night in a historic upset victory over the Democratic establishment, slamming President Trump and even her own party’s status quo.
“It seems like change is on the way,” Pressley said. “I am humbled to be standing before you tonight, victorious. Ours was truly a people power, grassroots campaign, launched just 195 days ago that dared to do what Massachusetts Democrats aren’t supposed to do.”
Pressley, 44, will become the first black congresswoman from Massachusetts. She is not facing a Republican opponent in November. In her victory speech, she attacked both Trump and — without elaborating — her own party.
“Though our president is a racist, misogynistic, truly empathy-bankrupt man, the conditions which have made the 7th CD one of the most unequal in America was cemented through policy long before he ever descended the escalator at Trump Tower,” Pressley said. “In fact, some of those policies were put in place with Democrats in the White House.”
Pressley, in a nod to the man she had just ousted, noted she had shared many stages with Capuano before she challenged him, and said, “He forced me to bring my best. ... I thank him for his 20 years of service.”
Capuano conceded shortly after 9 p.m. after it was clear he didn’t have the votes to keep the seat he’s held for two decades.

Capuano is very far Left. I consider the guy to be pretty much a straight-up Communist.
But he isn’t Left enough for 2018.
He’s out now — so that a REAL extremist can step up and show us how Democrats fight.
Another victory for the Crazies in the Democrat civil war. The more they win the more America wins.
LOL. I luv it. All these Straight White Male Dems who thought they could coast through their careers by towing the Multicultural Party line. And, despite all the lip service, they still got tossed out. What a shame!!

Capuano is also not very bright. The Boston Globe labeled him half Irish which is the mark of the beast.

Massachusetts is set to lose another district and her district will most likely be combined with either the 5th 4th or 8th. She might win the primary in redistricting but could easily lose to a Republican in the election.
I think they’ll be content being permanently out of power as long as their nonwhite representation votes for socialism. Where I see them drawing the line is when their white liberal enclaves get their schools forcibly desegregated, which is already happening. They love brown people...from a distance.
That is part of the problem. Ultimately, the Socialists always come for the Rich (until there are no Rich anymore). The only ones who may have their lifestyles intact (or even enhanced) are the “highly connected” Rich. Of course, they probably ALL imagine they are highly connected. Only a handful of them are correct about that though.
