That’s exactly the reason.
If cornered, they’ll tell us they didn’t want to offend any of the Fraud’s chosen people.
Another Freeper suggested it was because the movie will play in China, the world’s biggest film market.
I also suspect, though, they could have made two versions; one for the USA and one for China. So, yes, the lack of a flag scene was to downplay America’s role in the world.
Even the Star Wars and Star Trek genres have run their course. No new ideas and even the “good stuff” is “old retread tires” from previous movies.
I like the quote from Space Balls...”Merchandising! Merchandising!... God willing, we'll all meet again in Spaceballs 2: The Search for More Money.”

I guess that I am getting old....
You're not supposed to talk about your anti-American feelings and motivations until the movie has landed on HBO. The trip there will be much shorter for this movie now.
In fact, they had some trouble with the telescoping poles, and getting it into the surface deep enough to stand up straight.
I'm surprised the movie didn't include that as a bumbling 'America fail' type scene.
And you piss off millions of Americans in the process. This was a major event in all of human history and yes, the space race was during the cold war. Reminder: the cold war was against the communists and China was communist.
Sorry if the truth hurts.
Yep. Beer and poutine is the only thing they’re noted for; well okay, ice hockey.
Neither. I will choose neither because I refuse to support anything from Hollywood until they get their heads screwed back on! Also, to choose a Canadian to play an American hero was a deliberate low blow. It is not as if there are not plenty of talented AMERICANS available.
Don’t forget maple syrup and whining.
At the price of tickets and popcorn, it is far better to put the money in a jar and save it up for a trip to somewhere you’ve never been. Take a vacation instead of feeding the croc trying to destroy America.
“...until the movie has landed on HBO.”
I’m guessing it’ll be in the 4 for $10 barrel next to the trucker’s showers at most Union 76 truck stops soon enough.
They should have just told the story. (I was all set to go ballistic because of the author, James Hansen (of NASA) but found out it was a different James Hansen who wrote it.
But...they wanted to make a statement. Stupid. People would have probably gone to see it in good numbers.
But no. They had to inject their crap into it.
i believe so.
So where will you be on the evening of October 12th? Here are your cinematic choices....
<<<
I’ll go with my usual choices, i.e., no movies.
Vermont and New Hampshire has them beat.
communists always hate and deny things they are not capable of doing themselves.
A follower of Øbowel, wanting to take America down a peg or two.
What other reason would there be?
