"Two long running, Obama era, investigations of two very popular Republican Congressmen were brought to a well publicized charge, just ahead of the Mid-Terms, by the Jeff Sessions Justice Department. Two easy wins now in doubt because there is not enough time. Good job Jeff......"

One has to make sure the house is clean before going on offense.
“I don’t see them relenting any time soon, if ever, which means we’re headed toward some kind of historic reset of this country.”
I agree. Good post.

Watch for the fake poll numbers already out there...abc claiming trump’s disapproval poll among blacks are at an all time high 93%vs 3%approval ..FAKE POLLS!! Is this how the start of the 30,000 indictments Sessions is sitting on like his lovers here on FR keep exciting us about?
Trump will have that long to get things done before moving into the 2020 election season. At that point, the recess appointment will expire and the Senate will have to move on a nomination.
The question for Senate Republicans will be whether they will still want to punish Trump for firing Sessions a year ago while heading into reelection season?
I don't think Trump would be able to get away with a second recess appointment during the inter-session break at the end of 2019; he can only act in between Congresses after a mid-term election.
