‘New York Post’ Cover Mocks Trump-Bashing Meghan McCain as ‘The Meg’

The New York Post mocked Meghan McCain as The Meg on its Sunday cover after she used the opportunity of her fathers funeral to attack President Trump. The Meg is a reference to a plus-sized shark in the late-summer hit movie The Meg, starring Jason Staham.
The New York Post cover is just one part of a brewing backlash against McCain and the overall funeral service for Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), which turned into an unseemly partisan rally Saturday with speakers like former Presidents Barack Obama and even George W. Bush trashing President Trump, who Sen. McCain refused to invite to his own funeral.
Also not invited was former Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin, John McCains unfailingly loyal 2008 vice presidential running mate.
What made Saturdays shocking display all the more crass was that Trumps daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared were invited to the funeral and were forced to sit there and be humiliated, which might have been the plan. The McCains are infamous for holding petty grudges.
In an obvious shot at Trump, Meghan McCain used her eulogy to describe the death of her father as the passing of American greatness. The real thing, not cheap rhetoric from men who will never come near the sacrifice he gave so willingly, nor the opportunistic appropriation of those who lived lives of comfort and privilege while he suffered and served.
For good measure, she added, The America of John McCain has no need to be made great again because America was always great.
Obama was also not subtle. He ripped into those who traffic in bombast and insult and phony controversies and manufactured outrage.

Ms McCain gives the term “fat shaming” a whole new meaning.

if you mean gotten up in size . . . Actually, it was the creepy-angry face and the gown that seemed to flow directly from the huge, fake eyelashes. I also seemed to see Cruella's cigarette-holder, held aloft invisibly from the Megster's soul.
To: Fury
Point well taken.
Now can we call her a land whale?

You hit the nail on the head. There was something Cruella like about Cindy McCain also - the mask-like makeover, that inappropriate dress, the lack of tears. At my mother's funeral, I couldn't stop crying.
While there's a backlash regarding Meghan's eulogy, I hope this doesn't mean the Governor will sneak in Cindy to replace her hubby.

Bridgette has always had serious heath issues since they got her as a child...you're not going to ‘fix’ her. Meghan on the other hand just needs to push away from the table and probably lock the refrigerator and cupboards.....I'd peg her as an emotional eater regardless of what emotions are dancing at the moment in her head....she will eat.

Very presidential of Pres Trump to do the right thing for this McCain funeral extravaganza. The family and the VFW and others requested that Pres Trump keep the flag lowered in spite of the protocol which limited the time for doing so to the status of the particular office the deceased held. McCain was a senator. Not a US president. I doubt that Pres Trump was at all surprised by the lack of gratitude and thanks from No Trumpers and the McCain family. I doubt there is much of a shock factor in anything the leftist liberals and RINOs do to resist and undermine Pres Trump. Nasty, ugly elitist persons who want to cancel my vote for Trump and insert their own globalist lefty as valid. A funeral for them is just another opportunity to continue their unending efforts to destroy a President that was not their choice.

Hard to believe Meghan is so chummy with Obama after he publicly humiliated McCain at every opportunity following the 2008 election
Who knows where Meg would be working if her old man wasn't "The Maverick" John McCain........
She's a "know nothing" nobody whose only resume enhancement includes the fact that she is a lame Senator's daughter.........
