Sen. John McCain's family has gathered on a tarmac as military members took his flag-draped casket from a hearse to a plane that will take him from Arizona to Washington, D.C.
An Air Force plane that says "United States of America" will carry McCain and his family to the nation's capital Thursday.
It follows a memorial service in Phoenix attended by 3,500 people where former Vice President Joe Biden spoke.
There will be a public viewing Friday at the U.S. Capitol and a service Saturday at Washington National Cathedral. He will be buried Sunday at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.

I can’t imagine that many folks are watching or following this crap. McCain was a pathetic US Senator and a catastrophically failed presidential candidate.

Funerals are not for the dead. They are for the living. So, what happens at John Kerry’s funeral will depend on who tries to capitalize on it. If there’s a Democrat in the White House, regardless of what he felt about Kerry, he may choose to play the funeral up into a big political rally type event. It’s like what the Nazis did for men like Rommel. They made him commit suicide and then made a huge political spectacle at the funeral. Notice that Trump made no attempt to capitalize on McCain’s funeral. He honored McCain’s wishes not to come and he was roasted for it. For Trump, McCain’s funeral was a lose/lose. If he had come and made a speech he’d have been called a hypocrite. By not coming, he was called political and insensitive. (Sheesh. Can’t win against the press. (Except when he Tweets and their heads explode. ‘Snicker.’))
His funeral was on a holiday weekend. Nobody cares.
